I could've told the truth. I could've ran. In fact, I should have told the truth. But I didn't. I'm a pretty creative thinker so I decided to wing it.
Let me just tell you, I have a bad history with lying so this will be hard for me.
"Um yes, I'll just walk up here with my papers." I lied. I grabbed a stack of blank sheets of paper out of my binder and walked up to the front of the class with it pressed up against my chest.
I must've done something that gave me good karma or something because I tripped on the leg of Shay's chair.
"Owwwww!" I screamed. I'm very clumsy so this was no surprise but it was a great excuse not to read my story that I didn't do out loud.
Walking down the hall towed the nurse's office, I wasn't watching where I was going and tripped backwards and fell. Again.
Except this time it hurt a LOT worse. I almost screamed but I only let out a squeal.
The pain surged through my leg and my eyes watered.
"Are you okay?" I heard a voice ask.
Not at all sure who was talking to me I looked up at a hand extended towards me. She was a skinny girl with short black hair and black geek framed glasses and looking at me with a sad smile.
"Hi," her voice cracked, "I'm Ariel."
After observing what what had just happened I had assumed that she had just came out of the counselors office.
The counselor, a tall lady with ocean blue eyes and dirty blonde hair began to speak. "Hi Aspen! I was just looking for you! There's a girl who I think would be happy to hang out with you, but I see you two have already met."
Ms. Jones said.I pulled up on Ariel's hand and stood up. "Umm, yeah!"
"Great. Why don't you two introduce yourselves?"
I opened my mouth but no words came out.
She smiled and said, "Hi I'm Ariel Raggs."
I hesitated and finally got out, "Hi I'm Aspen! It was nice meeting you, but if you don't mind, I kind of need to get to the nurse's office..."
I stood up...well tried but stumbled back in pain.
Ariel helped me walk down and I thanked her. Something inside me made me feel really bad for her but I couldn't tell what it was just yet. She at least seemed nice.
The nurse brought me in and threw a bag of ice at me and it hit my leg. She wasn't all that great of a nurse.
I let out a yelp but the ice felt nice.
"Call your mom! Now!" She yelled and handed me the phone.
I waited as the phone dialed. "Hello? This is Elsie Day speaking." She said."Hi Mom, this might not be the best time for you, but I fell and I'm in loads of pain."
I heard her groan. "All right! I'll be there in about 10 minutes. Please get your stuff together." She replied.
"Thanks Mommy...*ahem* I mean Mom." I said and put down the phone.
I was helped down to my locker from Olivia who was luckily on her way to the bathroom and walking by.
That's when we saw the note on my locker from down the hall.
She got excited and started rushing but I was not ready for it and lost my balance. This time I caught myself.
She helped me up and apologized.
"What do you think it says?" She asked.
"I'm not sure." I replied.
"And what did the last one say?" She asked.
Not sure of everything they said I replied, "Well, they talked about how I was beautiful and sweet and they wrote this little poem and you were in it too."
"Me?"
"Yeah, you. "I believe it said, 'P.S. I bet Olivia knows who I am.'"
She gasped.
"Are you kidding?! I don't!""Okay." I said and we got to my locker.
This time the note said, "Meet me on the courtyard at 7:45 AM sharp!"
Olivia and I looked at each other and I ripped it off my locker and got everything out.
"All right, let's go. I wanna go home and sleep." I said.

I sat on the examining table as I waited for the doctor to come back with the X-Rays.A few moments later Dr. White came in with bad news.
I broke my leg and couldn't dance for six weeks. At LEAST.
I got to at least sleep in the hospital because I fractured my knee and bruised my shins.
But the thing was...I still didn't have my papers. And they weren't even started.

That's how I feel about this chapter.
