Neteyam & i skipped dinner with the clan, rushing over to the meeting hut after realising we slept the entire day under the shaded tree.

My legs felt sore & an uncomfortable sensation lingered between my inner thighs as we ran past Lo'ak, Kiri & Tuk, unable to stop for an explanation.

We quickly fixed ourselves before entering the hut, Netayam dusted my back & legs off while i fixed his loincloth to the centre. He kissed my forehead & covered my bite marks with my hair, we look like a mess either way but we had to try to look decent.

Over our mumurs, Neytiri's head poked out of the hut & found us helping each other look 'presentable' for the war meeting. She gestured us to come forward & frowned,

"Where have you been?! you were both missing the entire day, we thought something happened! your father is worried" she lightly hissed at Neteyam.

Neytiri looked over to me next & her gaze softens, "are you okay my child? where did you both go?" she asked while Neteyam entered to hut. My hands fiddled with my loincloth, afraid to answer the crossed & concerned mother.

"I- we.. were both, Neteyam was teaching me how to use dagger p-properly" i stuttered.

She titled her head & let out a tiny smile, she knew that i was mad at her oldest son for ditching me during the previous dinners & he 'fixed' it. She chuckled at my response & leaded me into the hut.

As i walked in, my eyes landed on Ailìtx & his swollen cheeks. He was sitting at a corner with his head down, avoiding eye contact with everyone in the hut, especially Neteyam.

Did my man do this to him..? all because of a kiss?

"We have the man power but we don't have the technology to track the ship anymore, you need to understand that we can't just run into an undisclosed war!" Mr Sully stressed to the lead warriors.

The warriors exchanged disapproving looks to one another & Neytiri slammed her hands down to bring everyone's focus onto her,

"Toruk Makto has spoken & you will NOT go against his words" she hissed.

I walked over to Neteyam standing across from Ailìtx's view, gripping his hand while his parents tried to calm the fretful warriors.

"What is going on? why is everyone so adamant about a war?" i whispered.

"The people are protective of their land, they fear its another round of attack from the sky people" he said.

My eyes once again glanced over to Ailìtx & this time his head was lifted up, showing his beaten up face. His right eye was black & purple, the broken jaw made it impossible for him to speak & his chest had a stab scar.

I looked up to Neteyam, to see the man who would kill for me when anyone or anything lays a finger on me. It terrified me to see the noble son in the family unleash his wrath when someone messes with his love ones. & this was just a minor beat up to him, i wouldn't want to know what else he's capable of.
Lo'ak wasn't kidding about his brother's rage.

"D-id you do that?" i asked Neteyam.

His eyes still plastered on his father to avoid a call out, "do what my love?" he asked.

I shifted my eyes to Ailìtx then back at him & he faced down smiling.

"No one touches my wife & gets away with it" he whispered with a subtle wink.

My cheeks were flushed & my eyes widened at his statement. Wife. He called me his wife. My heart was exploding & i couldn't let out a single expression because we're in a serious meeting. His wife. My Eywa this man chooses to say that now?
