Small note: this takes place after the Sumeru Archon Quest.

Nahida was walking along the streets of Sumeru, but it was unlike she had remembered it. The plants that were once a vivid green were now a sickly gray, and the once pristine stone floors were crumbling. Ambling fearfully, she dashed up to a middle-aged woman, who was doubled over and coughing. "It's ok, I'm here! Please, tell me what happened!" Nahida cried feebly.
The lady shakily raised her head, and her lifeless eyes stared back at me, and forced a smile. "Don't worry about me, I'm-" However, her illness caused her to be unable to finish her sentence.
Nahida cried out of fear, falling to the ground. "I can consult the Sages for help! I'm sure they know about the current situation!"
After the woman recovered from coughing, she looked up at Nahida and asked a question that shattered Nahida's small world. "Who are the sages?"
Nahida's small hands began to shake, and small, emotional tears flowed from her eyes. "You don't know who the sages are? What about the Archon under their care? I'm the Dendro Archon, the leader of the Sages? Does that help you remember?"
"The Dendro Archon? Sages? Our leaders are the Fatui and the Shouki no Kami, not these Sages and Dendro Archon. Are you new here?"
Her small head began to spin and she collapsed. Sumeru was controlled by Fatui and the Scaramouche? This couldn't be happening! Not to Sumeru.. Not to Sumeru...

Nahida awoke from her dream with wide eyes and sweat beaded across her forehead. Thankfully, this was just a dream, but it did remind her of what she needed to do. Sumeru was still in a state of crisis, and Wanderer only became part of their alliance a few days ago. While repairing Sumeru was a massive concern, her worries were about Wanderer. Would Wanderer ever return to being a Fatui Harbinger, and could he destroy Sumeru again? Nahida shook her head. It's clear to me that stopping from the Wanderer from helping us will only make the situation worse. He's like a dormant seed, he hasn't been able to grow in suitable situation to grow. It's best to give him a chance.

However, Nahida wan't sure how to introduce herself to Wanderer as a friend. Would a small gift help lighten the tension between us?  Nahida silently pondered to herself. Maybe I could discuss the tasks I want him to help me with over a meal? While this sounded like an excellent idea to Nahida, she wasn't sure what foods Wanderer would enjoy. Spicy foods aren't really a good food to use as a gift or a peace offering-a person like Wanderer may think you were trying to harm them.  Nahida sat there for a while, thinking of many popular Sumeru foods until she thought of a perfect idea. Sweets! This food wouldn't imply anything harmful, they cheer you up, and they help you think in moderation! This would be the perfect food for this situation!

Nahida happily jogged from the Sanctuary of Surasthana through Sumeru until she arrived at the Puspa Café. When she entered, the smell of coffee hit her like a wave.  As she walked through the elegant cafe, she heard the chatter of her citizens, who were talking about recent events. She walked up to Enteka and asked for a platter of Ajilenakh Nuts, and began thinking of places Wanderer would be.  He's wanders around to any place, so finding him may be an issue. This is truly going to be like finding a needle in a haystack.

To begin her search, she started in the Grand Bazaar, possibly considering that Wanderer had gone shopping. Wanderer doesn't seem like the type to go shopping for miscellaneous items, but I'll check there first. Maybe he wanted a new hat? Predictably, Wanderer was not there. She then made her way across Sumeru, and checked the other restaurant, Lambad's Tavern. To Nahida's shock, Wanderer was at the tavern, drinking a small cup of an unknown liquid. She hastily jogged towards Wanderer with her dessert of choice. "Of all places I though of to look for you, here was not one of the places I expected you to be," Nahida said, amused. "What are you even drinking?"

"Oh, just some wine," Wanderer glanced at Nahida's shocked expression and scoffed. "Did you think I was being serious? I've never had any interest in drinking wine in my life. Why are you even trying to find me?"

Nahida sighed deeply. "I wanted to discuss how you can help in Sumeru over a meal. I don't know what kind of food you enjoy, so I got some candied Ajilenakh nuts for us to share."

An expression of displeasure crossed Wanderer's face. "Maybe one day, but not over a meal like that. I'd prefer not to deal with my teeth being glued together for the remainder of the day. Thanks for your concern, I guess. Don't follow me." Wanderer finished drinking his tea and trudged through the people in the Tavern.

Nahida watched him walk out, confused at his rejection of the meal. Why would he reject my proposal? Wouldn't humans want to do something that would only benefit them? The only possible reason I could him seeing him distrust me is because I'm a god, like his creator. Nahida crossed her arms in mild annoyance. But why would he distrust me? I'm not like his mother who abandoned him.
Nahida exhaled, exhausted. It turns out befriending him will be harder than expected.
