After Wanderer left, she struggled to understand why Wanderer's reaction was one of annoyance. She had followed every detail in the book down to every last word, yet none of it worked on Wanderer. Once she returned to the Sanctuary of Surasthana, she read the book over many times, trying to understand the mistake she made. As she knew, the information was identical.
Usually knowledge is able to solve all my problems, but why can't it solve the relationship between me and Wanderer? Paging through the book again, a realization came to her mind. I took the book too literally, and acted completely unnaturally. It makes complete sense why Wanderer would have no interest in a friendship with an unnatural, unfeeling god.
With her mind finally realizing the mistakes she made, she decided to find Wanderer and make it right one last time. She walked through miles of luscious forests, surrounded by beautiful, exotic flowers; and many sandy, desolate deserts. Every so often, she would see an oasis, and would only stop to drink. However, at one of these oases she found none other than Wanderer. An expression of shock quickly passed his face, which quickly changed to an expression of annoyance. "What are you doing here? I haven't done anything wrong for you to worry about."
Nahida sighed deeply. "I'm deeply sorry about our meetup at the Café. In my pursuit to protect Sumeru, I forgot I was talking to a real person. The knowledge I learned about friendship cannot be applied if the desire to connect with humans is not there. However, now I can say I with my whole heart that I want to be friends with you."
Wanderer's expression changed to one of bewilderment and his body jolted. "A god is apologizing to me in particular. Wow. I somewhat appreciate it, but I am not ready to trust a god. "
Nahida simply smiled at Wanderer. "I fully understand. I hope I can prove to you I can be trusted. Are you ready to return to Sumeru City?"
Wanderer simply nodded, and the Electro Archon's puppet and the Dendro Archon walked back as equal peers.
