I run to the ship that is landing. Dad walks up beside me. We stop and the ramp comes down. Resistance officers run onto the planet surface, then my mother walks down.

"Sweetie. Thank the Force you're safe," she embraces me.

"Thanks to Dad," I tell her pulling away and stepping to the side.

She stares at Dad, and he stares back. C-3PO steps in front of us.

"Mistress Solo, you're back," the droid looks up, "Goodness! Han Solo! It is I, See-Threepio. You probably don't recognize me because of the red arm," I let out a chuckle, and the droid turns around. "Look who it is, did you see who... Uh. Hmmm. Excuse me, Prin... General. Sorry. Come along Beebee-Ate, quickly. Yes, I must get my proper arm reinstalled."

The two droids disappear. It's just my family. I kiss my mom's cheek then walk towards the ship.

"You changed your hair," I hear my dad say.

"Same jacket," my mother replies.

I stop, and smile. It's been a while since we've been together. I walk towards the cockpit.

"I need a com," I mumble. "Where..."

I look around and find one sitting on a table. I pick it up and contact someone.

"Poe Dameron, here," his voice says.

"Poe, thank the Force you're okay. How did you get back to base?"

"Ree? Is that you. I'm so glad to hear your voice. It's a long story for another time."

"We've got plenty of stories to tell when we get back," Chewie walks in. "I'll see you soon. I've got two people I want you to meet."

"You're always a suprise, Solo. I'll see you soon. Dameron, out."

The com cuts out.

"You wrangled one of the boys," I hear my mothers voice behind me.

I set the com down and look at her. "Yeah," a look of pain flashes across her face. "But we'll get him. I'll save him. I'm going to bring him home. I have to. For all of us."

"It's not all on you, Bee," my dad appears behind her. He rests a hand on my shoulder, "You tried your best multiple times. We can all try and hope he comes back home."

"Your father is right," Mom says putting her other hand on my shoulder. "We have to hope in the Force. Ben will realize his mistake and come back. Hopefully without too much destruction." I smile at them both. "Did you contact Poe?"

She changes the subject thankfully, but not to a better one. I look at the com I set down. "I'm going to guess you heard the conversation, so you know the answer."

She removes her hand and smiles her smile. Dad looks at her, then at me. "Who is this Poe? And why do you keep talking about him?"

"Poe's her future husband," Mom says, "I got fifty credits on it."

"Mom! You can't gamble with my love life! And he's not my future husband."

"Husband! Who is this kid?"

"He's not my husband, Dad. He's my best friend. Poe Dameron, flew for the New Republic, then came to the Resistance, met me, and now every mission she puts us together for."

"I need to meet this kid."

"You will, trust me. You've seen holo-pictures of him."

"And I'm sure Bee talks about him all the time," Mom states.

"I do not."

Mom and Dad start talking about Poe. I grab the com and open the channel.

"Hello, Poe Dameron."

"Listen to this Poe," I tell him. I hold the com link up.

"Who's this kid! And why did you say he's her future husband? I need to have a talk with him! And you gambled fifty credits on them!" Dad says angry.

"Oh! You weren't supposed to here the last part, but yeah, you're going to have fun meeting him."

"Who is it?"

"My father," I say.

I hear him wince. "Why is he mad? I've never even met the guy."

"Because you know Leia Organa. She loves to say we're going to be married and have kids."

"Is that this Poe Dameron?" my dad asks me."

"Um. No."

"Great job, Ree. Sounded so convincing," Poe says.

"Dameron!" I hiss as I shut the com link off. "Yes it was. You'll meet him soon."

As soon as I say that we drop out of hyperspace, and I'm greeted with the planet D'Qar. We land on the tarmac, and I run off the ship. I look around for Black One. I spot it, and run towards it. Poe is climbing down the ladder. I run towards him. He takes his helmet off drops it to the ground as he runs and hugs me tightly.

"Ree. You're okay?" he says into my ear.

"I'm fine. How did you survive? I thought you were lost for good," I say hugging tighter. "You can't do that, Dameron."

BB-8 comes and bumps our feet beeping.

"Beebee-Ate, buddy," Poe says kneeling down to the droid. "Oh, it's good to see you too."

I clear my throat. "Wow, just ditch me for the droid."

He waves me off as Finn comes running.

"Poe? Poe Dameron, you're alive?" Finn asks.

"Buddy! So are you!"

They start talking. I watch from my spot. BB beeps.

"I know, Beebee. He's finally going to meet my dad," I tell the droid. "And Chewie."

He beeps again before rolling over to the two men. I watch Finn start to take off the jacket. Then keeps it on. Poe noticed. I walk over to them.

"Poe, I need your help. Bree, I need you too," he says.

I nod. He explains that he needs to speak with Mom.

We head deep into the base, passing guards who don't ask to see identification. Me being the General's daughter has it's perks. We run down steps and into the conference room. I walk through towards my mother, who is conversing with Resistance officers.

Poe was the first to speak. "General Organa I'm sorry to interrupt. This is Finn. He needs to talk to you."

"And I need to talk to him. That was incredibly brave what you did. Renouncing the First Order, saving this man's life, and my daughter's."

Finn interrupted my mom. "Thank you, ma'am. But a friend of mine was taken prisoner."

"Han told me about the girl. I'm sorry."

"Finn's familiar with the weapon that destroyed the Hosnian system. He worked on the base," Poe says.

"We're desperate for anything you can tell us."

"That's where my friend was taken. I've got to get there fast."

"And I will do everything I can to help but first you need to tell us all you know."
