Jason's POV

Dennis drove as to a broken down building that seemed to be cut off from the rest of the city. Everything about the paint looked shady and blackish. Half-dressed women could be seen walking in the building. I certainly wasn't the place for curious teenager.

"That's the place alright, Jimbo's repairs." Dennis draws our attention and points to the buildings next to us.

"Are you sure this is the place, isn't it a motel, it looks rundown." I say while scanning the environment with my eyes.

"Hey, show some respect would you, this is the place Bill and I met for the first time." Dennis says angrily.

"Ho ho, this is so cool why haven't I ever heard of this place before, am going to get tons of customers here and I bet they love cocaine mixed with sugar!" Oliver says with excitement in his voice.

"Oliver I told you no more selling crap, it makes people brain's rot and plus you can get arrested for that remember." I say in an irritated manner.

"I can still sell old antiques right?" Oliver says exasperatedly.

"Oliver!"

"Fine, I won't sell anything, I hope your happy, you're such a killjoy." Oliver says while folding his hands into his chest.

"Okay, everybody move out and let's go find our guy for the job. All hands on dick... I mean deck." Everyone starts to stare at Dennis as he made an obvious grammatical error.

"What? It was a mistake, forget I said that."

"Everyone spread out, that will increase our chance of spotting him faster, Oh and he looks like an old man wearing a pair of goggles." Dennis describes the pilot.

"Oliver go with Keith, Daisy you go with Dennis and I'll go with Liza." I split us into three groups and they all nod their heads in agreement and set out.

Oliver spots some ladies waving at him in a cherry manner. "Hey Keith check this out, those chicks are so hot, want to meet them!" "I don't know...we're supposed to be searching for the pilot."

"Come on stop being so uptight." "And you should stop acting like a baby and grow up! Your friend's family is in danger and all you can think about is ladies. Aim higher Oliver"

"You're just a party pooper like Jason aren't you?"

"Oliver you've got to stop acting like this, just forget what you did in the past and continue with life. Your father is rich for god's sake why would you need to sell crap."

"You just don't understand I'm, I'm..." Oliver stammers. "Your what Oli."

"I'm addicted okay! There now you've heard it, the cat's finally out of the bag, tell everyone go on spread the news."

"Oliver, bro addiction can easily be cured with hard work and determination and I can help you stop this habit. I'll always be there for you bro." Keith reaches out and hags Oliver tightly.

"Thanks man." Oliver says.

"Don't get all mushy on me, okay now is getting too tight, enough of this sentimental sh*t, Keith stop, Keith I can't breathe you're hugging too tigh..."

"Oh um sorry, didn't notice." "Were you trying to kill me". Oliver starts panting heavily and gasps for air.

"So Dennis how did you know about this Island, have you lived there before?" Daisy questions Dennis with her arms folded behind her in a shy way.

"Yeah, I lived on Rook Islands once, then I got on a boat and sailed away and came here." Dennis answers softly.

"I'm not pry, that's your business, I'm not asking anything private." Daisy answers sarcastically.

"What made you leave." "What you just said you wouldn't pry on my business."

"I was being sarcastic, so what made you leave your birth place."

"I committed a horrible sin as a Rakyat warrior on one faithful day. It all started when a young man from the states crushed landed on our island. He got badly injured, I saw him and assisted him to my home to heal his wounds.

"When my people saw the foreign man, they considered him as a threat because he could bring others like him to our Island and that could endanger our ancestral history as well as our Gold."

"I tried to convince them to leave him alone but all that proved futile. When the man got better, they sent three Rakyat warriors to secretly kill him in his sleep without my consent."

"But I taught they were bandits because it was at night they attacked, they drew out their swords and I had to strike them down but one of them escaped."

"When it was sunrise, a whole lot of people were chanting the word traitor at my front door. I opened the door and they said I killed my own brothers."

I told them it was bandits I killed not my brothers, I went to bring out the bodies of the bandits I left lying dead on the ground, instead I saw my worst nightmare revealed before me in plain sight. It felt like a shock wave of lightening going through my heart splitting it into two.

"My eyes began to water, tears started to roll down my cheek".

I couldn't believe it, I murdered my own closest comrades, we trained together, ate together, did everything all together. Why didn't they tell me it was them when we fought? Why didn't they draw my attention? Unanswered questions flowed through my mind.

"I and the foreign man escaped through the back door silently without drawing any attention to ourselves. We took a boat and sailed away for days then we were rescued by fishermen and brought to California."

"Wow! That was a painful back story, you were very courageous and selfless Dennis, am sorry for what you had to go through, you had to choose between what custom demanded and what was actually right. Dennis, it wasn't your fault, I hope you forgive yourself." Daisy sympathizes with Dennis

"It's okay, it was a long time ago".

"What happened to that foreign man you rescued." "Who, oh you mean Jack, well he thanked me for everything and we went seperate ways."
