Author's POV
Jason takes onto the cold street for a late evening stroll with his dog, Charlie. A usual get away he normally does to escape life's daily disappointments and his failure to take control of his own life. Jason is seen as a loser, misfit, black sheep, wierdo, freak. You get the point, he has only four friends and two brothers.
"Jason don't go tonight, it's already late. Jason...Jason Brody, you get over here young man". "At least let your brother come with you tonight." Jason's mother attempts to stop him from going out. "Mom, don't worry, I'll be right back soon enough" Jason still insists on going alone." If only he knew what awaited him, what was to become of his life.
"Grant go after your brother." Grant, quickly does as he is told and tries to follow Jason, but Jason stops him." "Grant, you don't need to come with me, it's just a walk." "Yeah, a walk in the Dark with no one to back you up."
"You see that's the problem, I can't do stuff on my own, I have never taken charge of my own life." "Jason do that, Jason come here, Jason its dangerous. I'm sick and tired of people telling me what to do, just let me find my own path."
"Little brother we bo..."
"Don't call me little". Jason cuts in with agitation" "We both promised to take care of each other when Dad died, you remember, go but just be careful alright." Grant raises his voice at the end as Jason runs of creating distance between the two
"Oh little brother." Grant sighs and goes back inside.
"Come on Charlie, let's go boy." Jason exits the conversation with his dog Charlie". They walked down a few blocks away from their apartments, as the streetlight begin to disappear. The roads become darker each step of the way, the moon's light became dim as clouds started to form all over it.
Jason suddenly becomes cautious of his surrounding when a man in his mid-forty's calls out to him saying, "YOUNG MAN! Help me, please you must help. Their trying to kill me." The man seemed out of breath as if he was on a marathon.
Jason at first, just kept walking the same direction despite the man's efforts to stop him. "Stop following me." Jason demanded.
At a point in time, Jason even begins to Jog even faster to get as far away from the man as possible." Until three gunshots were fired way behind Jason. BOOM! BANG!! BANG!!! The sound bounced all over the surrounding walls and then into Jason's head.
He covered his ears and screams, he couldn't take it. That sound, was the key to open Jason's nightmares and inner demons
"Jeez. What the fuck was that." Jason had never heard the sound of a gunshot before, well except in the movies he watches.
Jason turns back to see the man who was following him down on the ground bleeding out from his leg and shoulders.
"WOOF-WOOF, Charlie barked loudly in hopes of protecting his owner from danger, but Jason covers its mouth and pulls him to a dark spot behind a dumpster.
Jason felt terrified, it was as if all what he tried to get away from by freeing his mind through walking, all came back to haunt him.
The strange man who asked for Jason's help at first, now struggles to crawl away towards Jason for help. Unfortunately, a man walked out from the shadows heading directly towards the wounded man.
Jason taught of saving the man, but his hopes were crushed as soon as they arrived.
The man had a black pistol in his hand. The man had flaming green eyes, he even had a belt with bullets strapped around his waist with a red green gem around his neck. He wore a red shirt with bluish jeans that looked worn out and a Mohawk hairstyle.
