The elevator bell dings, the doors sliding open to reveal a small garden. Six paths lead up to a circle, in which a pedestal with a statue sits. In the distance, car horns honk, and a light breeze blows through my hair as we all step off the elevator into the garden.
Mom looks around, laughing into the night. "Cool." She says as I walk up to the statue in the middle. Obsidian Memorial Park, graciously donated by, Sir Reginald Hargreeves, this 1st day of October 1989, it reads.
"That's not freaky at all." Five mumbles. I look up at him, not even realizing he was there. "Yeah, no shit," I say as we lock eyes. Five's just as confused as I am.
"Luther?" Viktor suddenly says. We all turn at the name, watching as a very different Luther from the one we're used to seeing walks out of the elevator. "Oh shit. You can see me?" Luther asks, sounding surprised.
"Yes!" Viktor cries. "I'm alive? I'm alive!" Luther says, lifting Viktor off the ground in a hug. "Luther's alive!" Klaus cheers, clapping his hands. "Wait, that's not all, big guy." Viktor continues as Luther sets him back on his feet.
"Huh?" Luther glances down at himself, genuinely surprised. "Whoa! Holy shit! My body! I look amazing." "Luther's all svelte now," Klaus comments. "I gotta show Sloane. This is so cool." Luther says excitedly, turning around.
"Five, your arm." I point out. Five looks at his arm, which two minutes ago wasn't even there. Partly confused, Five smiles at me. "Nice work figuring out the sigil, by the way." He remarks. I can't help but grin.
"W-wait. Where's Sloane?" Luther asks, spinning around in circles, looking for his missing wife. "Oh, she was, uh..." Klaus starts, looking around as well, "she was right behind me-"
"When Allison hit the bloody button." Mom cuts him off. "She's gone too," Dad adds, referring to Allison. I look around, realizing that neither aunt Allison nor Sloane is anywhere in sight.
"You know, I don't know about you guys, but I haven't felt this good in years," Klaus comments. "Does anyone know where the hell we are?" Ben grumbles. "The hotel," Mom says. "Or at least this is where it used to be."
"I think the old man did it." Five says suddenly. "I think he reset the universe." Dad suddenly walks up to me and mom, showing off his hand. Mom laughs. "You got your fingers back!"
"Sloane? Sloane!" Luther shouts, before marching up to Five and grabbing him by the shirt collar. "I don't care about any resets, all right? I want my wife back. Where is she, Five?" He asks.
"I'm glad you're alive, but take your hand off me." Five says calmly. "Not until you give me an answer." Luther retorts. Five scoffs. "Okay, screw this." He says, trying to pull out of Luther's grasp, but it doesn't work.
"Something's wrong." Five says, suddenly worried. "That's right. You're about to get your ass kicked." Luther says. "Yeah, kick his ass." Dad encourages from the sidelines. "No, you moron. My power." Five says. "I can't blink."
"Yeah right," Luther says, letting go of him. Dad pulls out a knife, flipping it only to accidentally drop it. "That's not good." He says as I pick up the knife. Ben and Viktor both strain, trying and failing to get their powers to work.
"Okay... come on. Alakazam... ghosties." Klaus says, waving around his hand. "Five's right, I can't feel any of your auras," I say. "Wait, wait, wait. How do we get 'em back, you idiots?" Ben asks. No one answers him.
"I gotta... I gotta go find my wife." Luther says slowly before walking down one of the six paths. "No! Luther, you can't go. You were dead five minutes ago. You're fragile!" Klaus calls, running after him.
"No. Wa- Klaus, wait!" Dad calls as Klaus runs off after Luther, but he doesn't make a move to stop him. "I'm out, bitches." Ben says, heading down a different path. "Guys, come on. We should stick together and figure this out-!" Viktor calls, but no one listens to him.
"What are we supposed to do?" Dad asks no one in particular. Mom looks up at him. "Live our lives?" She suggests, taking our hands.
