The rumours were spread by now. Everyone knew what had happened in the school. Everyone knew who Skye was, a girl who was friends with a dead girl. Many people made false rumours, and the most 'popular' one was Skye murdering her best friend. Another day, Skye made her way through the halls as people stared at her, eyed her, gossiped about her, and the whole school talked about her. She put her head down, as someone tripped her, and then she fell. Everyone was watching. People pulled out their phones and started taking pictures, recording, laughing, and snickering."Oops, are you okay?" The boy snickered.
Skye didn't answer. She just looked up at him as he laughed. He high-fives his friend and leaves, while Skye is on the ground. She got up, brushed her pants, and ran to her locker.
This continued for days, leaving Skye humiliated, all the negative things, Skye just wanted the ground to swallow her down alive. None cared for her. She was a freak. All her memories came back, just like how she was bullied in third grade. It was happening again, all over again.
It was another day of school, and Skye was holding a pile of books in her arms, making her way to the library as a girl pushed her, causing her the fall down, and her books flying everywhere.
"Oops, sorry, I didn't mean to!" She laughed.
Other kids, pulled out their phones and laughed at her. Skye didn't seem to care, she sighed and started picking up her books when she saw a girl's hand picking up books with her. The girl had beautiful brown skin, with her dark brown hair and had dyed purple in a bun. She helped Skye up and gave her books. The other kids stared and started whispering.
"There, I saw what happened, why would they do that?" She asked.
Skye didn't answer, all she felt was how weird it was for a girl to help her. She looked away from her and rushed to the library.
Skye put her books on the counter to return her books, as the librarian took each book at a time and scanned it.
"You know, I saw what happened yesterday, if those girls were bothering you I could do something about it, just tell me."
Skye didn't answer, she just didn't want any situation to get bigger. The librarian fell silent.
As the librarian finished scanning the books, Skye started to quietly leave for her favourite spot.
"You know, I always saw you and Elaina in the corner, I would always let you both come here and have fun every day."
Skye stopped in her tracks. "What?"
The Librarian smiled, and Skye somehow felt a small relaxed soothing feeling with her smile. "You both seemed like very great friends, with the laughter you both had, I would always watch you guys from afar." Her gaze focused on Skye as if she was sincere with her.
Skye blinked and had her head down. Elaina was gone and there was nothing she could do about it. She had to hold in all the pain and sorrow. It seemed as if wherever she went, people would want to mess with her, and with her feelings. It didn't matter anymore, it's not like anyone cared from the beginning, and neither did the librarian. She turned around and left.
Skye flipped through books, taking one at a time, and pushed it back into the shelf beside her. For some reason, she just couldn't focus, not even on the books. Something was bothering her, but she couldn't understand what or why. She slapped herself and shook her head. No! Everything's okay! Elaina is still here! Elaina. Oh, Elaina. Why did you leave? Why did you have to leave me? Why did you lie to me? Why Elaina? Why? Why? Why?
"Hey," someone said as they walked up to her.
