Hey everyone,
This is your beloved author Beenish, coming through with a book which is very close to my heart and a topic which I have been wanting to write on for a very long time and I hope that this book is as close to you, as it is to me. Culture and heritage are two topics which are very close to my heart and I sincerely pray that these two things become as important for you as they are to me right now, although we have been straying from them for a very long time. This book will contain use of some Urdu words and sentences, which is the national language of Pakistan and spoken in many areas of the country but not to worry, I will be giving the English translations for the phrases used as well, so you don't have anything that you will have to panic over. This is the introduction to the characters so without any further ado, let's get started.
Amarah Khalil
Amarah Khalil, born in Lahore, Pakistan is the only daughter of her parents, Khalil Anwar; who works as a Professor in a well known university in the city for the subject of Computer Science but he holds his religious values very close to his heart and would not trade them for anything in this world, making it very difficult for Amarah to have convinced her father to allow her to pursue her studies abroad in the United States of America. Her mother Shabana is a woman of gentle demeanor and she trusts her daughter to not do anything that harms or hampers their family's reputation; which is why she was the only one supportive of sending her daughter abroad for studies. Since her childhood, she has taken a keen interest in studying books and deep Literature, giving her a good reputation amongst her teachers and peers, also leading to the development of the love for Philosophy inside her, something which the conservative Pakistani society despises as for them Engineering and Medical are the only professions which are considered socially acceptable for them. Her personality traits include being conservative with emotions, she is immensely hard-working and would do anything to achieve her goals just to make her parents proud and she has a slight bit of sarcasm along with wit inside her which makes her entire persona dynamic and she is proud of that trait since she uses it only where it is required. Poetry is her biggest best friend in any situation and despite being the biggest introvert planet Earth has ever seen, she has a close group of friends or only one friend whom she can be truly open with while love, what's that? Love is the last thing on her bucket list despite reading tons of novels about it, she has no plans of finding what it is or where to even find it. She plans to get educated abroad and then pursue a teaching profession back at home.
Fayez Hameed
If the playboy of the Philosophy major class had a name, it would be Fayez Hameed. A Pakistani born immigrant from a very young age, and someone who has no attachment to his culture whatsoever, and someone who doesn't easily get over the past. He resides with New Haven, Connecticut with his father, Zuraiz Hameed and mother, Saba Hameed. He does not have any siblings as well and he is the only son of his open minded parents who do a lot of charity work and even carry out dinners for the Pakistan Students Association in USA. He considers himself to be only American and does not pay much attention to the Pakistani side of his identity as he finds it to be embarrassing and something which he has to live with as a liability. Fayez has a girlfriend by the name of Natalie Owens and they have been together for a few months which develops a very close beyond between them, Natalie works as a fashion design student in another university close to their own, which makes their bond a bit faltered but he promises to love her, despite him taking a lot of time to finally find the one that he likes. He usually plays around and parties, secretly smoking and drinking. He does these things without his parents not knowing and that gets him in a lot of trouble at times. He has a cousin by the name of Natasha Khan, who often visits them in New Haven while he hates his culture and values, he admires his cousin deeply and looks upto her as an elder sister which plays a key factor in developing the love he needs for his past life and values. Unlike Amarah, he does believe that love exists and has a deep search for it in his life, hoping he can fill the void with part time relationships and drinking which helps him to temporarily numb the pain.
