Maeve Castellan

Tartarus

~Meanwhile~

Percy's pov:

We all fell into Tartarus. As I was falling i thought more about Maeve's sudden change of heart. It was odd and suspicious.

Before I had the chance to say anything I fell flat on my face. I got up groaning and saw Annabeth snort while Rachel looked like she was about to combust from laughter. "Not funny." I tried to argue but was met with Will's laughter instead. I just nodded in disappointment before I noticed the three walking away from me.

We had to walk for a few minutes but we soon found ourselves talking about the world without the gods. The world didn't go extinct because Maeve and a bunch of minor gods/goddess were alive. I would even describe it as nice. Although Krones could be cruel he didn't send us on quests, he did everything himself or if the task was easy he'd sent a member of his army, usually Ethan or Luke. The mortal world didn't change much, I don't even think anyone noticed the change in overhead rulers.

As the conversation carried on we started talking about what we missed. We all said camp but Rachel said something amusing. She said she missed Maeve. That's when I noticed how she acted around the goddess or how she reacted to her name. Rachel would turn red or even giggle at Maeve before this whole thing. I even remember that Leo used to call them 'ginger death' because he used to ship them like crazy.

I got pulled out my train of thought when the others stopped walking. I looked up and saw a massive dungeon. I gulped at the sight. It was celestial bronze bars with a glowing aura around it, making it seem enchanted.

We soon noticed the olympians in there. Zeus approached us and when we got a good luck at him, he looked horrendous. His hair was all messed up and he was as skinny as Nico, if not skinner. He was pale and he almost looked fragile in a way.

"How did you get out?" He asked, shocked. The four of us looked between each other. I was hoping that someone else says something cause I knew I'd mess things up if I did. I guess Rachel heard my silent prayer and said something.

"Maeve asked us to come get you. She realised how she fucked up and wants to help you. Gods, she's even distracting Luke for us" she sighed as if she couldn't believe it but it was in a good way. She seemed happy about Maeve helping us. Zeus looked takenaback while the other gods whispered amongst themselves.

"Very well. I'm glad she finally saw past our differences. If she actually helps us then we shall keep her out of tartarus" he sighed. Now it was out turn to be takenaback. Hades looked impressed, hearing about his daughter. Persephone looked proud and Demetre looked relieved.

After an hour we managed to break the gods put. Hades took us back to Olympus whilst the gods went to defeat Krones and his little minions.

What a Chaotic day.
