episode oneit wasn't rare to find aven jones doing something self-destructive. John B had come to find, over the last few months, that getting herself drunk upon any problems that arose in her life was habitual. And it scared the hell out of him. For most the evening, AJ had been consuming copious amounts of alcohol to sooth her from her spiralling habits, and by the time the sun had fallen under the horizon she was stumbling across the sand, talking to various tourons among the party.
She wasn't very liked among the kooks, and the pogues barely knew her and most still thought of her as the mayor's stepdaughter. So, clueless tourists who were visiting the OBX on a weekend with their parents was a preferred option. She rested her arms on a dead tree that had collapsed into the beach from the storm, smiling and slurring her words with a pretty blonde boy on the opposite side. With some imbalance in her actions, she lifted a hand to correct his fluffy hair, running her hands through it. And as the two of their faces were close enough to feel each others breath, she looked down to his eyes. She caught herself in her actions and pulled back.
"I'm gonna be right back." The hand that laid itself on his neck slid away as she turned and began to wander back to the keg, where the infamous JJ and John B chugged drinks. Upon noticing her arrival, the brunette immediately put his drink down and put a hand on her shoulder as she stumbled.
"Shit, Av, how much did you drink?" John B questioned, but she quickly ignored him and poured herself another. "Hey?"
"Just a few." She shrugged, sipping her drink whilst scanning the area, unable to see the blonde boy where she left him. As her concerned friend questioned her, she brushed him off and walked to another dead tree, climbing until she stood on top of the log, much taller than the two boys now. JJ smirked at her idiocy before sipping on his drink and looking up at her slightly elevated height on the branch - the top of his head just level with her stomach. "Do you see a very hot blonde anywhere? I've lost him." She squinted as she searched the crowd.
"Right here, Jones." The smug smirk of JJ was met with her as she glared in his direction.
"Not you, Maybank." She hopped down with a jump that caused John B to hurriedly try keep her stable. "You are far from my type." Pointing her finger into his chest, he rolled his eyes. As she walked away to find the boy, John B attempted to call her back to no avail. She only gestured her hand to dismiss him as she wandered the beach.
"If she throws up at the chateau, she's cleaning it." John B gestured his hands in exasperation, picking his drink back up.
The night continued as AJ and the blonde boy sat around a campfire, in a world between themselves as she kept an attentive gaze into his honey coloured eyes. While he spoke, all that could circle her brain was the thought of how much prettier she found blue eyes over brown. If his eyes were the lighter ocean colour, she wouldn't be able to stop looking into them. "What're you thinking about?" She snapped back into the conversation to hear his question.
"World domination, of course." She answered in a serious tone of voice, shrugging her shoulders casually.
He laughed at her comment, glancing between her eyes, then her lips. Slowly, he leaned in until their cheeks touched and his breath was against her ear, speaking in a low voice. "Wanna get out of here?"
A pit formed within her stomach, her smile dropping slowly. She had been comfortable flirting, but what that lead to made her heart sink to the floor and her throat close up. The feeling cleared her mind of an intoxicated fog just enough to get a serious response. "Oh... I, uh, can't ditch my friends." She quickly thought of an excuse. She wasn't entirely prepared for him to make the suggestion, she only anticipated kissing him at most tonight.
