"Max....but....what? Why don't you let go of me?.......Where do you want to go?" Nat didn't understand the problem of his beloved, great friend, brother, colleague and series partner Max, who had grabbed him by the arm and pulled him away with him.

They were at the after-show party of a big fashion event, where the Thai film, music and fashion industry was in full swing, with one famous face chasing the next.

Max skillfully put on his fake player look as he smiled friendly, but driven by emotion boiling hot inside, he wanted Nat to get out of sight of colleagues, staff, fans and cameras as quickly as possible.

With gentle force and a brief sinking into Nat's eyes that told him he had to comply now if they didn't want to be the talk of the town tomorrow, Max pulled his partner towards the dressing rooms and washrooms, but turned, unseen, through a door that led into the catha-combs of the large event hall, where normally only staff had access.

Far away from all the people who were scurrying around in a flurry of flashbulbs that day, or who were directing everything behind the scenes, Max now stood with Nat all alone in a long basement corridor.

"Max, what's going on? What are we doing here?"

Nat was visibly perplexed, tilting his head and trying to look into the face that he actually loved so much, but just didn't want to show itself to him.

Max was still holding Nat's wrist, but was looking tensed in the other direction, his head lowered towards the floor.

"I had to get out of there?"
Max pressed hard through his teeth. His voice sounded indefinably emotional.

"But.... why? Are you not feeling well? Are you sick...do you feel sick?" Nat was quite perplexed and looked around with a fair amount of discomfort.

He anxiously placed his free hand on Max's shoulder, trying to lift the one still in his grasp and place it on his partner's forehead to feel his temperature.

Max was never sick, but if he was just leaving the event now, it had to be something serious.

But Nat wasn't able to touch Max face, as his attempts to do so were met with strong resistance. Max did not allow Nat to break free from his grip.

"Sick...tzzzz....actually not...or maybe not like YOU think....I...?" Max stopped in the middle of his sentence.

"Then what's the problem?"

Nat asked, looking around with unease.

This basement hallway was quite creepy with its whirring neon lights and the soft echo of their voices as the sound bounced off the walls.

"Do you actually know where you ran off to? Did you really want to come here?" Nat asked further.

He pressed a little closer to Max, now just wishing so badly to be taken into his strong arms, as his partner always did when Nat felt uncomfortable feelings rising inside him.

Max was always so gentle and tender with him at such moments, grabbing him briefly by the chin, winking at him, courting him and being there for him with full body praise or stroking him until he felt better.

But Max reacted completely differently today. He seemed to be fighting an inner battle with himself and didn't seem to have the gentle feeling for the fine nuances of Nat's emotional situation as usual.
