Chapter 25 - Crossing the Line (2) (Zee NuNew)

Chiang Rai, a beautiful city in the province of the same name, which with its sights attracts thousands of people visiting there again and again.

NeNew had already been there as a child and remembered how beautiful it had been there, but to be there with Zee was something very special.

It was not even about the beautiful temples, or the wonderful nature, the impressive city, but only to get to know what roots this wonderful man had.

NeNew was able to meet Zee's mother and father, his pregnant sister with husband and child, and immediately felt at home there.

He got to know this family as incredibly friendly, was immediately welcomed warmly and was integrated in everything.

His every wish was read from his eyes, he was allowed to help with the cooking, but later also had to do the dishes with Zee.

At some point he went to the living room with P'Aof and the rest of the family, where he enjoyed looking at family photos, including some cute pictures of little Zee, and hearing stories of the tough little boy who always wanted to act and sing.

Zee was at the same time helping his mother put some washed cooking utensils in the kitchen cupboard, for which his height was slightly more suitable than hers.

"You finally seem a lot happier my son.....you wouldn't believe how happy that makes me."

Zee's mother looked smilingly at her eldest, who was just putting the big wok from dinner back on the shelf.

"He's really nice.....and.....incredibly handsome.....but I guess THAT's what my dear son has noticed already."

She added, waiting for a reaction with a mischievous smile.

Zee immediately blushed.

"Yeah, I noticed that, Ma."He laughed.

"But no one is as adorable as the most beautiful of mothers."

He put his arm around the much, smaller, aging woman and pressed a kiss to her temple.

"Oh, you sweet-talker......now tell me.....what do you want? If you're going to put the moves on me like that, I'm sure you have a request."

This woman really knew her son very well.

Zee cleared his throat, he knew to be honest was very important now.

"Ma, you saw right through me, but I want to emphasize that I meant what I said, you are just the most beautiful to me." He gave her another little smack and then faced her at the kitchen counter.

"As you know P'Aof is with us. I've known him for so long, he's not only a producer, manager, director and boss to me, but also a really good friend who has guided me through so many storms...but...."

Zee tried to find the right words not to sound ungrateful or rude.

"But....what?"
His mother asked immediately.

"I think he's only accompanying us because he's worried. He's afraid NuNew and I might rush into something we're not ready for, which might not be good for us, or might affect our salvation, and by extension, our careers. After the Saint thing, he's so overprotective and doesn't seem to trust me to properly assess the situation with my new partner....he seems to think we're getting into something because we....uhm........because Nu and I...."
