Guy Germaine took me on a date.
It was a bit weird, but it was also a blast.
We had gone to the park, and I never had so much fun. I let out a laugh as Guy picked me up and spun me around.
"Guy!" I laughed.
"You're not very fast on land, are you?" He teased.
I smiled at him. "You're not the fastest either."
"But I am faster then you."
I smiled wider, and Guy set me down. "Now that we've established that I'm faster then you, would you like to go get something to eat?"
"Sure." I smiled.
Guy grabbed my hand, and the two of us walked to the diner. When we walked on, we sat at a booth, and waited. We order our food, and halfway through it, I looked up and saw Fulton walk in.
"Look, there's Fulton!"
Fulton looked up at the mention of his name, and he smiled when he saw us. "Hey, guys, what's up?"
"Nothing." We said, together.
"How are things going between everyone?" He asked. "Between you and Connie?"
Guy and I shared a look. I shifted a bit, and said, "Everything's going fine. She's been ignoring me. I've been acting like a jerk, it's fine."
Fulton sighed, and said, "Look, maybe you have been acting different, maybe you haven't. But are you guys really going to let this get in the way?"
I looked at the ground, and then back at Fulton and said, "Well, she wants it too. I'm just doing what she wants."
Fulton gave me one last look before waking away, and I did my best to ignore the feeling of guilt.

Guy Germaine was at risk of losing his scholarship.
Which meant Adam and I were also at risk of losing our scholarships. All of us were standing around the table, Adam and I with varsity, and the Ducks together, and Charlie and Fulton were with them again.
"Do I have a notion of reconsideration?" Dean asked, looking around the table at the board members.
No one raises their hands. "I'm sorry, Coach. Unless there's a motion from a board, and a second, the deduction must stand."
I looked at Guy from across the room, and he winked at me, making me confused.
"But you leave us no choice but to call in our attorney." Orion said.
Adam and I shared a look of confusion, and the door opened and Bombay walked in.
"Dean Buckley, members of the board. As a counsel for Coach Orion, and the freshmen team, I'm here today to set forth your legal options, so that you may make the best possible decision for all parties concerned." Bombay said, setting his briefcase on the table.
"Mr Bombay, this is not this is not a legal process." Dean said, almost nervously.
"Not yet. But I can assure you, it will be." Bombay pulled out a contract, showing it off. "These scholarships, an offer, becoming a binding contract upon the signature of the receptionists, and acceptance by the Ducks. They can not be voided except by cause, which I can assure you, you have none. Should you decide to pursue cancellation, I will slap you with injunction. I will use this matter up in court for years, until long after these kids have gone to college. And I will collect damage. And I will win. Because I am very, very good. I have education. You gave it to me. And you're going to give it to these kids." I looked at Guy again, who was giving me a smile. "Now, some of you may be snobbish enough to believe that the Ducks don't belong here. Let me tell you, you are dead wrong. These are remarkable young people. You give them their full shot, they will succeed. Not only on the ice, but in the classroom as well. These people are my friends, and I know what they can do. Accordingly, I demand that you reinstate their scholarships for their benefit and your own."
No one moved, and then, a board member raised their hand. "I move that the scholarships be reinstated."
"Is there a second?"
Someone else raises their hand.
"All in favor?" I felt a smile appear on my face. "Scholarships reinstated."
We cheered, and once we were done, I wrapped my arms around Guy. He hugged me back, and the two of us stayed like that for a moment, until all of the other Ducks headed out into the hallway.
"Congratulations on destroying our school." Rick said, glaring at all of us.
"Hey, look, it's our school too." Kenny snapped.
"It's everyone school, you stupid jock." A girl, none of us had ever seen before, said.
"No, it will never be your school." Rick snapped. "Don't you get it? You're our own little affirmation action, brought in for color for our entertainment. But you couldn't even do that. Your fancy lawyer kept you in on technicalities, but you'll never belong."
"You'll never be more the free ride rejects." Coke hissed.
"Free ride? Look at you rich boy. Mommy and Daddy gave you everything you have, huh?"
"Hey, J.V./Varsity game in on Friday. Then we'll show the whole school what a joke you really are. Then maybe you'll leave on your own. It'd be the honorable thing to do."
"You know we're going to hurt you."
Charlie scoffed. "Listen, you had an unfair advantage last time. You had two of us. Allison and Banksie."
"Oh, well, keep them. Neither of them had hearts of a warriors."
"Hey, Biff, one more thing. After we beat you, the Warriors die and the Ducks fly." Russ said.
Rick scoffed, and Varsity stormed off.
"Yeah, Russ, make them even more mad." I said.
Russ rolled his eyes, and I watched as the brown haired girl mumbled something to Charlie, before walking away.
"Who was that?"
"Linda." He answered.
"And you like her?"
"Maybe."
Guy turned to him and said, "Well, why don't you—"
"Shut up, Guy." Charlie snapped, his cheeks turning red. "You're the last person I would take relationship advice from. You can barely get Allison to look at you, let alone like you!"
Instead of saying anything back to him, Guy looked at me, and winked.
