(Narrator's POV)
While Pearl and Garnet went with Ford and Stan to Gravity Falls to set up the Warp Pad, Greg and Steven went to the Maheswaren residence to talk to Priyanka.
"Here we are. You ready?" Greg asked as Steven nodded. He was ready to finally settle this problem before it got out of hand and feelings got hurt even worse. Getting out the van and knocking at the door, Steven and Greg were answered by Priyanka.
"Steven. Greg. What brings you here? (Sighs) Nevermind. Why be rhetorical? I know why you're here. Come in and let's talk." Priyanka said with a sigh as Steven and Greg walked inside and sat on the couch.
"Now I talked to Connie and she's still hurt about what you said to her, Steven. However, I need to let you know that it wasn't anything personal......" Priyanka began to say.
"Priyanka. Enough. Just....tell him the truth already. I know you don't think badly of Steven, but he's already heard enough people refusing to be upfront with him." Greg said as Priyanka sighed.
"Fine. I'll be upfront: Steven, while I have nothing against you personally and think the world of you, Connie needs someone that she and I both know will be stable for her. She needs stability in her life and Jeff provides that for her. I'm sorry, Steven. But I just don't think you're what she needs as a boyfriend. Just as a friend, OK?" Priyanka said as Steven sighed.
"I'll be waiting outside, Dad. Thank you, Ms Maheswaren." The hybrid said as he walked outside and waited in the van. Greg then looked at Priyanka.
"Listen, Priyanka. Not everyone can be perfect at everything. I may not have the education you have or the job you have or even be the same level of parent you are. But what I do know is that I love my son and I'm proud of him. And I also know he's been nothing but a great friend to your daughter. You and I both have seen it. And the fact that you don't think he's good enough hurts." He said.
"Greg. It's not like that, alright? I think the world of Steven. But I just want what's best for my daughter." Priyanka said.
"You can't always make the choices for her. Sometimes you have to let your child do their own thing and learn from it." Greg said as Priyanka gave him a look.
"Not everyone can afford to be a free range parent like you, Greg. You never took control as a father and look what's happened to Steven as a result. So as far as I'm concerned, you don't have any room to judge me as a parent because you're barely one as is!" She snapped as Greg just walked out the door without saying anything.
Once he got in the van, he looked at Steven.
"Listen. You've got a beautiful girlfriend in Mabel. She's in your life now. You don't now nor did you ever need Connie. The two of you can still be friends if you want, but the girl in your life now is Mabel. And she can...." He began to say.
"Dad. It was never about my past feelings for Connie. I love Mabel. Anything I felt for Connie has already left me. It's the fact that her Mom doesn't think I'm good enough." Steven said.
"Ah it doesn't matter what Priyanka thinks. She's always going to be stuck in her ways, Steven. She's entitled to her opinion but Mabel and the others think you're good enough. The Gems think you're good enough. I think you're good enough. So what Priyanka says should not matter to you at all, OK?" Greg said as Steven smiled.
"Thanks, Dad. Let's go home." He said as they drove back to the Beach House/Temple.
(Meanwhile in Gravity Falls)
"And that should do it. The Warp Pad is set up." Pearl said as she handed Mabel a Warp Whistle.
"That'll take you right to the Warp Pad in Little Homeworld. It'll make it easier for you and Steven to see each other." Garnet said as Mabel smiled.
"Nice! It'll be great to spend more time with Steven! Do you Gems have to use a whistle too?" She asked as Pearl shook her head.

"No. Gems can use the Warp Pad without the use of one. Steven can too due to him being a hybrid." She replied as Mabel got an idea.
"I think I'll surprise him now. I'll be back, Grunkle Stan and Ford!" Mabel said as she blew the Warp Whistle and warped away.
(Beach City)
Steven had arrived back home. His Dad had gone to see Vidalia and Barb for a card game. Sitting on the couch, the hybrid just sighed as he thought about what his Dad had said. Was he good enough?
"Am I good enough for Mabel?" Steven asked just as the Warp Pad went off. Looking at the Warp Pad, Steven gasped at who he saw.
"Steven!!!!" Mabel exclaimed as she embraced the hybrid in a hug and kiss, causing him to blush.
"Mabel....am I good enough for you?" Steven asked as Mabel smiled.
"Of course you are! Why would you think you weren't?" She asked as Steven smiled.
"No reason. How about we just spend some time together and forget I said anything?" The hybrid said as the two of them headed out.
Priyanka comes off as a real b**ch in this chapter, I know. But it's allowing Steven to fully separate himself from any lingering feelings he may have had for Connie. See ya next chapter!
