(Steven's POV)
"So let me get this straight: All of them are aliens? Never thought we'd find a town full of them, but then again, we've seen things just as weird." Dipper said as Pacifica rolled her eyes and chuckled as we were all hanging out in Little Homeworld the next day. I had decided to pretty much have them sit in while the Gems gave a class on something.
"We dealt with things like monsters, magical gnomes, a video game character that came to life....." Pacifica said as I chuckled. These guys have had just as crazy of a life as I've had. But little did I know that the day was about to get even crazier.
"Now then. Just so she'll stop driving us crazy and can show off her idea, here's Peridot with a lesson of her own." Pearl said as Peridot got in front of everyone.
"So everyone. As you know, I'm not only a teacher, but lead engineer of Little Homeworld." Peridot said as I couldn't help but chuckle. In truth, Bismuth was lead engineer but all of us decided to just let her have this one since she was getting into her speech.
"So what do you got for everyone, Peridot?" Amethyst asked as Peridot walked over to what looked to be a massive shed. She then pulled out a remote control and out came what looked to be two mechs. Like, anime style mechs straight out of a show like Gundam.
"Ta-da! For my lesson, I'm going to show you all the fruits of my work! Giant robot fight!" Peridot exclaimed as Pearl shook her head.
"Peridot. You cannot and will not have a giant robot fight in Little Homeworld! Who'd be crazy enough to even want to get in the other one?" She exclaimed as Peridot looked around before her eyes focused on me.
"Steven! How about you? You're into this kind of thing! You and me in a giant robot fight!" Peridot exclaimed as I sighed.
"Are those robots even safe?" I asked as Peridot nodded.
"Yep! The loser will be ejected safely out of it and hover back to the ground." She said as I was still skeptical until Mabel smiled.
"Hey Dipper. Can I borrow the portal gun for a second? I have to grab something from another dimension." She said as Dipper smiled, seemingly knowing what Mabel wanted to do. After making a portal, the two of them walked through it. After about ten minutes, they came back and Mabel handed me what looked to be a miniature golden drill. I knew what it was and was trying to figure out how she got it. It's literally out of an anime!
"Steven accepts, Peridot!" Mabel exclaimed as everyone looked at her and me.
No way I could say no now as I got into the mech and Peridot got into hers as we faced off on the beach.
"Ready, Steven? I really hate to have to embarrass you in front of your girlfriend and your new friends, so you better actually try!" Peridot exclaimed through the intercom in her mech as I grabbed the microphone.
"Don't worry, Peridot. I'll actually try. It would be pretty embarrassing for you if you were to lose your own lesson. Let's do this." I said as confidently as I could.
"All right. But we may want to get Spinel out the way first." Peridot said as I let my guard down and focused the mech to the side of me.
"Wait. Spinel's here.....GAH!!!" I exclaimed as Peridot got a cheap shot in on me, sending me to the ground.
"Too easy! See class? That's why you should never let your guard down......what the?!?" Peridot exclaimed as I was back up with a burst of power!
"Yeah, Peri. I'm going to show you why that's a bad idea." I said as Peridot laughed.
"Steven, I'm the teacher here. There's no way I'm losing unless it's through something crazy." She said.
"Well what are the odds? I have something crazy right here!" I said as I activated the golden drill, transforming my mech into the legendary Guren Lagann!
"How in the stars did you do that?!? That's literally the Guren Lagann!" Peridot exclaimed as I set up the final attack!
"GIGA....DRILL... BREAKER!!!!!!!" I yelled as I charged at Peridot and drilled through her, causing her mech to cease and her seat to eject as she went flying and safely landed on the ground next to a laughing Lapis and Amethyst.
Everyone cheered as I got out the mech as Mabel hugged me and we shared a kiss.
"That was cool, Steven!" Dipper exclaimed.
"You guys helped me, so thanks." I said.
Once class was over, Connie approached us. Jeff wasn't with her.
"Connie." I said as she smiled at me.
"Steven. I heard what my Mom said about you and...well it led to a big argument. But I wanted to say on behalf of both of us that I'm sorry. I just...lost control of my life and my feelings. I knew I wanted you. But my Mom...." Connie began to say until I stopped her.
"Connie, it's alright. I forgive you. I've got no reason to be angry at you anymore and I hope you and Jeff are happy together. You're still my best friend. I just want both of us to be happy." I said as Mabel smiled at me before looking at Connie.
"Well.. if he can forgive you, then so can I. So let's start over: I'm Mabel Pines. Steven's my boyfriend." Mabel said.
"And I'm Connie Maheswaren. Steven's my best friend. So you better be good to him, OK?" Connie said as the two of them shook hands as the rest of us watched and smiled.
All's well that ends well.
And that's the end of another story! Was going to wait until tomorrow to post this part, but I decided since it was already ready, I'd post it.
Anyway, anime fans will get the Guren Lagann reference in this chapter. XD!
