"Taylor."

"Maddison."

Let's rewind a bit :)

Turned out, Maddie lost track of time and fell asleep on the rocks, only awakened when the sun began peeking it's head out from behind the waves of the water.

Stressing out at why she wasn't in bed, Maddie woke up, noticing her surroundings and gathering her memories from last night.

Climbing down, still groggy, she slipped grazing her side against the rock.

"OW!" She yelled, as she landed on her feet. Clutching her side, she quickly ran to her room, before her shirt could get too bloody.

Cleaning herself up, she changed into baggy ripped jeans and a rainbow tank top, letting her bright red natural curls out of her loose bun and quickly fixing up her mascara.

Right as she was about to leave, she noticed how she was wearing a tank top.

Shit.

She grabbed a white Nike sweatshirt with a zip and threw it on, dropping it off her shoulders and covering her lower arms mainly.

On her arms, were 10 years worth of scars. They weren't the only scars, but that was where the most of them were. And the worst ones. When she was 17, Maddie was even rushed into hospital because of how deep she cut.

She spent over 2 years in a mental hospital after that.

She preferred that over home.

However, no one knew. And she definitely wasn't planning to tell anyone. She quickly rushed to her friend Marie's room, giving her a quick hug and heading to breakfast with her. Kelsi was still hungover from last night, so everyone gave her a chance to sleep in.

The duo met up with everyone else at one of the larger tables in the buffet, everyone heading off to grab some food. Maddie, feeling sick, grabbed a few apple slices and sat back down with everyone else, crunching on her apple.

"I'll be back, bathroom." She says, heading to the bathroom. Washing her hands, the door opened, a woman walking in.

Blonde.

Blue-eyed.

Tall. A good 6 inch taller.

It was Taylor.

"Taylor."

"Maddison."

*cue awkward silence*

"So, what are you doing here?" Taylor asked the shorter girl, knowing very well why she was here but trying to make small talk.

"Work. Don't talk to me." Maddie said, drying of her hands against her jeans and leaving the bathroom.

"Maddison!" The blonde yelled after her, but she was already long gone. Taylor looked at herself in the mirror, thinking of the past and how her and Maddie's last meeting ended.

Flashback

January 2016

"NO! YOU TOOK HIM AWAY FROM ME. I WAS THE ONE OFFICIALLY DATING HIM!" Maddie yelled at the blonde who was standing just as angrily.

"WELL IT ISN'T MY FAULT THAT HE DIDN'T TELL ME HE WAS DATING ALREADY!" Taylor said, proving a point.

"WOW SO ARE YOU THAT BLIND THAT YOU DON'T EVEN READ THE NEWS?!" Maddie screamed, her cheeks tinted pink. She kind of wanted to break up with Tom for a while, and just didn't have the heart to tell him, but it still hurt that he didn't tell her.

"I'M BARELY ON SOCIAL MEDIA I DON'T EVEN CARE ABOUT THOSE THINGS SO HOW WOULD I KNOW?" Taylor argued, her anger building up inside of her at the stupidness of the woman in front of her.

"YOU KNOW WHAT? I GIVE UP." Maddison said, accidentally bumping Taylor's shoulder as she walked by.

"Don't touch me." The blonde said, shoving the red head.

"Don't fucking shove me." She replied, pushing the blonde back.

And thats how the fight started. Selena and Kelsi apologised for their friends and teared them apart, leading them far, far away from each other.

Taylor was still standing at the mirror, and realising the time, she headed back to her table with Selena.

"Guess who I met in the bathroom."

Meanwhile, Maddison and her group had finished eating, and were heading to the beach. They found a few lounges in the corner of the beach, beside the rock pile Maddie had slept at. They all stripped, in their bathing suits and ran into the water, splashing like little kids.

After getting out, the red-head wrapped herself in a towel, despite having a long-sleeved swimsuit. The water wasn't the warmest, and so the air still brought shivers to her spine. In her towel, she climbed the little rock pile, laughing at everyone else who tried and failed.

Marie threw her a beer and she caught it, opening it and taking delicate sips as she stared at the glistening ocean that stretched out for miles. It was breath-taking; the way the sun reflected on the water,but it was also painful, reminding her of everything she went through in her childhood.

Hours later everyone in Maddie's friend group was extremely drunk, apart from her. She looked down at them, embarrassed to be part of that group. They had a performance in about 3 hours, so they would have to perform with massive headaches.

"And this is why we can't have nice things." The red-head sighed, watching them go off to their rooms as she headed to her own, starting her hair for her number.

At last it was the few minutes before their 3rd performance of the week. Everyone was complaining about their headaches, while Maddie was behind a curtain changing into her black one piece - long sleeves and a short skirt, along with black small heels. She had black eyeliner and a dark crimson shade on her lips.

The first was a duet between Maddie and Charles. They were both very good friends, and Charles was gay which meant no sexual attraction happened during the dance. They still managed to perform amazingly, Maddie being thrown into the air and twirled around on the floor. Everyone was shocked at how elegantly the girl moved, her red curls bouncing with her movement.

As they were bowing towards the end, Maddison couldn't help but notice Taylor, in the very right back corner with Selena. Their eyes locked for just a single moment, before they both turned away, blush tinting their cheeks.

No. Stop looking.
