Taylor must've heard that word a million times that day, considering nothing she suggested corresponded with Maddie. After they had dinner, the redhead had another mental breakdown, after something reminded her of her mother once more.

"All you ate today was some fruit and a tiny bit of takeaway. You have to eat something, just a snack before you go to sleep." Taylor tried to bargain, trying to count up the small amount of food that Maddison ate earlier today.

"You can't tell me what to do you're not my mothe-" The redhead began, before stopping abruptly as tears welled in her eyes once more at the mention of her dearest person.

"Oh you." The singer softly says, inching closer to Maddie and pulling her into a tight hug. But this time, the tears did not turn into sobs, and the Brit managed to calm down in a matter of moments. Not wanting to admit it, she felt safe in Taylor's arms, despite them being 'enemies' and all that shit.

As Maddie felt her eyes growing heavier, she mumbled,

"We still hate each other."

"Good morning, sleepy head. It's almost 2 in the afternoon, I let you sleep in so come on, time to get up." Maddie heard Taylors voice. Groaning, she turned away from the door, feeling too tired to do anything.

All she wanted to do was cry, cry,cry.

The blonde sighed, leaning against the doorframe. "You had like 7 missed calls. All from the same person. Some girl named Evelyn?" She continued, not thinking it was that big of a deal. As soon as she said the name, Maddison jumped up, grabbing her phone off the charger and calling the number back.

Taylor stayed at the doorway, listening to the conversation.

Maddie: Hey Evie, I am so, so sorry I didn't pick up. Whats wrong?

Evelyn: Maddie it's fine, nothings wrong. Auntie May just wanted me to tell you the funeral is in tomorrow, 3pm, so if you want to be here I can send you the address and everything.

Maddie sniffled.

The funeral.

Maddie: I'll be there, but did you hear that father got let out?

Evelyn: Yeah?

Maddie: Make sure there's security everywhere where we are. Tell May, she'll understand why.

Evelyn: Okay! I love you, Maddie.

Maddie: I love you too, muffin, I'll see you in a couple days.
