Kara still couldn't believe what she had just saw..she didn't even know if this had actually just happened before her very own eyes; but by the looks of it all..everything she witnessed was actually true

She looked down at the wedding ring and then back at Barry who just stood in silence, she listened to his heart and it was beating surprisingly normal; there were no signs of panic or anger which made Kara question him

Kara:Barry..are you okay?

Barry looked up from the wedding ring on the ground and faced Kara

Barry:I think so, I don't really know..ever since I came back from the speedforce, I knew things between me and Iris wouldn't be the same..

It was true..he held onto the hope that things would go back to how they once were before he had left but they never truly did; the love they once had for another began to fade away and despite his best efforts it had all gone down the drain

Barry:Maybe I just needed the right motivation to finally admit to myself that my marriage wasn't going to work with Iris..

He felt Kara's hands pull him into a hug as Barry just let it happen even now he still couldn't believe that one day, he was going to have a son with the remarkable woman who is currently hugging him

A son who would forever change the world and living up to create a legacy of wonderful accomplishments, Barry eventually pulls away from Kara's hug and offers a small smile to her

Barry:Thank you for being here, Kara. It means alot to me..and im sorry about Iris insulting Connor; I should've stopped it--

But Kara grabs one of Barry's hands and stops him from finishing his sentence

Kara:You don't have to apologize on Iris's behalf..I didn't really know what it meant to be a mother but the moment I saw Connor, I think I finally understood a fraction of what it meant to be one..

The two superfriends just smiled at one another feeling this weight come off of them..it was a nice and comfortable feeling, Barry looked down at Kara still holding his hand as she followed his gaze and pulled her hands away from him feeling a bit embarrassed about it

The fastest man alive let out a nervous chuckle and scratched the back of his neck alas this moment between them was cut shirt as Barry felt his phone buzz from within his pocket, he reached and pulled out the phone seeing that it was a text message from Joe telling him to meet him at his house

Somehow Barry could already tell what this conversation was about to be about and he was ready to deal with it head on; the speedster excused himself and ran off leaving his trail of orange lightning

Barry walks up the steps to Joe's house as he takes a deep breath and calms himself then proceeds to knock on the door, a few seconds go by as Joe answers the door and gestures for Barry to come in

Barry makes his way into the living room and sits down on the couch with Joe sitting to his left with a chair next to the couch, the two just sat in silence and stared at each other knowing what this conversation was truly about and so the fastest man alive decided to just speak his mind

Barry:She called you and told you everything, right?

Joe just nodded his head as Barry continued

Barry:How much did she actually tell you, Joe?

He didn't want to sound rude to the man who raised most of his life, he just wanted to know if Iris had told Joe everything that was said during their argument

Joe:She told me that you had Connor send Nora back to the future..you had an argument about not being able to trust her and you took off your wedding ring

Well at least most of it was true, Barry straighten himself up from his back against the couch

Barry:Joe..I need you to be completely honest with me, if you were in my shoes would you have made the same decision as me? Knowing what you know about Nora working with Thawne..

Joe stopped and genuinely thought about it, he truly did care and adore Nora ever since she arrived here and knowing he was a grandfather in the future made it that much better but when they all found out who showed her how to come back and still knowing what Thawne did to them..it changed things

Their trust in Nora had been fractured like glass being thrown to the ground and shattering into pieces, pieces that would very difficult to put back together; so if Joe was being honest with himself..

Joe:I would have..yes. I love Iris to death but..as a father, I sensed the moment you came back from the speedforce..the love you once had wasn't fully there

Joe rubbed his hands together and sat up straight

Joe:I thought you and Iris would be back to who you once were but..it didn't look like that was going to happen, I was hoping with the wedding that the spark could be reignited..

Barry saw the doubt behind his adoptive father's eyes..and it hurt him to know that even Joe was catching on to what he had pieced together not that long ago

Barry:What else did she tell you?

Joe:She mentioned you siding with Kara during the argument

Barry hummed and got up from the couch as he began to walk around the living room

Barry:Iris said some very..interesting words to Kara and things just kept spiraling down from there, I had to put an end to it..

Barry stopped walking and looked at a picture of him in his graduation cap and blue gown

Barry:I didnt end things just because I sided with Kara but it was because I knew in that moment, no matter how hard I tried or wanted to..the love we once had was actually over

Barry turns to Joe and walks over to the couch and sits back down

Joe:Barry your a grown man..I won't tell you how live your life but I need to ask you..is this really what you want to do?

The fastest man rubbed his hands together and gave a small nod as Joe could just lean back in his chair and sigh, they didn't need to say anything else to each other as Barry got up from the couch and headed for the door but before he walked out; Joe called Barry out one last time

Joe:Just some advice, Barr. Give both of yourselves time away from each other..

Barry nodded his head actually agreeing to Joe's advice as he opened the door and walked out of the house, the fastest man alive felt a bit more relieved knowing that Joe supported and understood why he called things off with Iris

But he still needed to talk to someone who he knew he could trust that wasn't family

Barry reached into his phone and scrolled through his contacts and pressed the name he was looking as his phone rang; he waited for a few seconds until the other person finally answered

Barry:Hey Oliver..I um..can we talk?

A reunion between the fastest man alive and the emerald archer was about to be set into motion alas their legacies were about to do the same
