"Sorry about the mess. Mister Van Statten sort of lets me do my own thing, so long as I deliver the goods. What do you think this is?" He asked Rose, Juliet moving to awkwardly sit at the side.

"Er, a lump of metal?" Rose asked, leaning closer to him. Juliet could only look away, slightly ashamed at her overly-flirtatious demeanour. She had a boyfriend back home, and clearly was attached to the Doctor. Just a bit of a moral mess, she thought.

"Yeah. Yeah, but I think, well, I'm almost certain, it's from the hull of a spacecraft. The thing is, it's all true. Everything the United Nations tries to keep quiet, spacecraft, aliens, visitors to Earth. They really exist. " Juliet let a small smile grow on her face. She would have been in disbelief a year prior, but now? Somehow it was all real, and such a magical thing to see the wonder on people's faces when they find out.

"That's amazing," Rose gushed, wiping the smile off Juliet's face.

"I know it sounds incredible, but I honestly believe the whole universe is just teeming with life."

"I'm gobsmacked, yeah. And you do what, sit here and catalogue it?" Rose questioned him, pretending to be out of the loop.

"Best job in the world," he responded, clearly proud of his position. The raven-haired girl could only watch in pity as the blonde manipulated them into giving her privileges.

"Imagine if you could get out there. Travel amongst the stars and see it for real." Was she in the position to invite him when she isn't the one in charge?

"Yeah, I'd give anything. I don't think it's ever going to happen. Not in our lifetimes," he rebutted, making Juliet smile.

"Oh, you never know. What about all those people who say they've been inside of spaceships and things and talked to aliens?"

"I think they're nutters." As anyone would.

Rose coughed, pretending not to be offended. "Yeah, yeah, me too. So, how'd you end up here?"

"Van Statten has agents all over the world looking for geniuses to recruit," Adam replied, the raven-haired woman noting his ego inflating.

"Oh, right." Rose flirted, smiling at him. "So you're a genius."

"Sorry, but yeah. I can't help it. I was born clever. When I was eight, I logged onto the US Defence System. Nearly caused World War Three," he boasted, Juliet looking up to him in concern.

"That's awful. Why the hell would you try and do that?" She asked, her green eyes glaring at him. He sighed, completely unfazed by her tone.

" Well, you should've been there just to see them running about. Fantastic!" She sighed, having had enough of him.

"You sound like the Doctor," Rose mused, smiling at him.

"Are you and him..?" Adam asked. Juliet had to ignore the fiery pain in her chest, the butterflies that normally inhabited her stomach blazing into ashes.

"Oh, no," Rose shook off, a wistful look in her eye. "Just friends."

"Good," Adam noted.

"Oh? Why's it good?" She asked, getting closer to him.

"It just is," he shrugged, a smirk plastered across his face.

"So, wouldn't you rather be downstairs? I mean, you've got these bits of metal and stuff, but Mister Van Statten's got a living creature down there." Rose clearly wasn't comfortable with waiting as the men went to the source of action.
