Stella had not stopped pestering Dwit about how he had to be 'healthy' and go see a professional. Dwit didn't care; he thought that if Stella was so concerned with him she would take care of him all by herself. Stella did not appreciate that when he had said that to her. Now he laid staring up at the ceiling trying to fall asleep. After a few long hours of thinking to himself he finally fell into a deep sleep.
We can't keep waiting here! even if that Trellis doesn't show up I think we should leave!" Stark yelled at Story. She growled and opened her mouth but Stark cut her off from whatever she was going to say "I don't care if you think that Trellis could protect us!"
"he will help us and we will wait! You are a greedy pig!" Story yelled "all you care about is your own happiness! you don't care for me! Only yourself!" Stark growled and stumbled away and a look of shock crossed his face suddenly. He glanced around his eyes darting around.
"something is wrong.... what could-
Dwit woke suddenly and soon came aware of Stella rapidly tapping his shoulder.
"wake up!" she yelped "I saw him and something was wrong!" Dwit blinked at her, narrowing his eyes thinking of the thing that Stark had said before he had woken up.
"what?" Dwit asked, coming out of his dizzied state of sleep. "who? oh the man with blond hair?"
"His name is Trellis and yes, something is wrong..." Dwit frowned when he heard the name. It was a strange name.
"What do you think could be wrong?" Dwit asked slowly. Stella frowned and hurried Dwit out the door.
"look!" she pointed to a man with bright golden hair and piercing blue eyes. He was looking around with a look of confusion pained across his face.
Dwit looked at Stella then back at the man. "what?" Stella frowned looking at him, she waved her hands at the man and Dwit started to understand. The man down there was Trellis.
"What do we do? I want to help him but I don't know who he is.." She shook her head looking down. "what can we do?" Dwit looked around again.
"Stella?" Dwit looked over and yelped, the man –Trellis– had called Stella's name and was coming towards them. "I- I thought you were unconscious..." Stella looked around and Dwit started to panic.
"uhhh... who are you?" Dwit asked slowly, trying to be gentle to the young man.
"are you Dwit? Story's spouse?" Dwit frowned and narrowed his eyes.
"yes.. you know Story? Are you the one that sent the note then?" Trellis nodded, his eyes clouded.
Dwit just then realized how beat up the man looked. He had bags under his eyes, Trellis's hair was a mess, his eyes were bloodshot red and puffy. Dwit looked him over, seeing the man in a new light. Trellis looked at Dwit, his eyes sparkling with weak interest.
"yes I did..." he looked at Stella ''...something was wrong." Stella frowned slowly and Trellis's eyebrows pulled together in confusion. "Stella, are you ok? Last time I saw you, you were unconscious. How are you awake?"
"I- I don't know who you are.." Stella hesitated at the heart broken look on Trellis's face.
"what...?'' The man looked like he was going to collapse in a pool of misery. Dwit hesitated then took the hand of Trellis and dragged him to their house. He opened the door and set Trellis down into a chair. He looked hollow staring at the wall. Stella headed in, hesitantly avoiding Trellis's eyes.
The man sat with his head lowered and tears fell from his eyes. He grew transparent and his eyes widened in horror. Trellis grabbed his head and hissed, clenching his teeth. A strangled guttural scream escaped his lips and echoed through the room even after he had completely disappeared.
