Dwit was worried for Trellis. Finding him out looking over the cliff had really shown him the gravity of the situation. People could die. Dwit felt cold as he sat alone in the corner. He barely looked up as Story walked over and sat next to him. She seemed like she didn't know what had happened.

So he told her "I found him looking over a cliff." Story looked up with concern on her face plain as day. Dwit looked away and felt ashamed for the way he had treated Trellis when he had first met him. Dwit sighed, feeling horrible and responsible. He didn't know why but he felt that he needed to protect Trellis and help him out of his weakened state.

The problem was that Dwit didn't know what he could do to help him. He sighed, putting his face in his hands. "How can I help him?" He shook his head "I... I really want to help him. But... I don't know how..." He looked away, his face shadowed. Story put her hands on his shoulders.

She looked at him "why do you care so much?" She furrowed her brow "I'm not trying to day that you shouldn't care. but... you didn't know him until just barely and I knew him in my childhood." She sighed and glanced over at Dwit. "You don't need to act like your his parent. Dwit hesitated.

"I... I know but... I can still care." Story nodded but didn't answer again. Dwit didn't know what to do. Why didn't Story understand? She should be trying to help him as well. Not try to tear down the need to help him. Dwit swallowed he didn't feel like anything was going to go right for now on. But then again when did anything ever go right?

Story got up and left and Dwit felt a stab of anger. Did she even care? Dwit swallowed down his anger and got up to sit by Trellis. He felt completely horrified. Trellis had his eyes wide open but he was just staring. He looked like he was watching something horrible. He probably is. Dwit though sadly. Why was the world so mean to Trellis? If nothing else Trellis should have a decent like. He was the kindest person Dwit had ever met. Something was good about him. Even if Dwit had been able to help him there was something wrong.

Something that Dwit couldn't fix. He didn't know what it was but it was bad. So he decided to talk to TIme-TelLer.

He walked over and sat next to him. "TIme-TelLer?" He asked and TIme-TelLer looked up.

"yes?" Dwit suddenly realized that this man no, boy looked a lot older then how old he really was. He was probably just twelve.

"I... I'm worried about Trellis." TIme-TelLer nodded. "He..." Dwit looked away. "Do you want to know where he was?" Dwit didn't give TIme-TelLer enough time to answer. "I found him looking over a cliff. He... he was going to kill himself." TIme-TelLer nodded slowly.

"It's not time yet." He mumbled and Dwit looked up at the words.

"What?" TIme-TelLer looked away quickly avoiding Dwit's question.

"nothing." Dwit doubted it was 'nothing' but he decided to let it go for now. So realizing that he wouldn't get answers from him right now so he got up and left. He walked outside looking at delicate glass trees. He reached out and touched one of the leaves. He thought that Trellis was like a glass plant. It grew in amazing conditions and it could survive so much. But a single rock to the tree could make it shatter.

Dwit looked down as the Stronene that Trellis had named 'glass' rubbed up against his leg. Dwit sighed and reached down and petted Stronene slowly. He wished that things would just get better but he knew that that would never happen. no matter how hard he wished.

Dwit felt his head for a moment. He felt like TIme-TelLer's words had meaning. so he decided to think about them too much.

"It's not time yet'' What does that mean? He said that after I told him about Trellis and the cliff. Dwit felt an ice cold shiver go up his spine. It's not time for him to die? Is that what he meant? Dwit felt a prickle of unease. What is going on?
