Before you were born
my life was a mess
sadness and loneliness
That's all I felt
Then I saw you for the first time
Your little face your tiny fingers
I held you for the first time
You held on to my finger
And the world completely stopped
For a minute all I saw was you
I saw your little face and my heart melted
My heart was completely yours
I loved you since that day on
They named me your godmother
And that's when I knew
I couldn't give up
I had to think of you you're future
I made you a promise
To never leave you behind
To always be there for you
You don't know it yet
But you saved my life
When I'm down or I'm sad
I think of you
I look at your picture
You bring a smile to my face
You give me a reason
To want to be better
To want to continue
You give me the strength
To fight another day
I hope and I pray that maybe one day
I'll read you this poem and tell you
The story of how you saved my life
I love you my baby
You may not know it now
But one day you will
You bring me joy and happiness
You're my world
my strength
my rock
My reason to fight
My reason to look at a brighter side
I hope one day
I'll make you proud
To call me your godmother
