JJ's pov
"This one's a doozy my loved. Hotch got a call from a Captain Ciceros in Seattle. He reports at least seven dead prostitutes that have appeared in the streets." Garcia said as she flashed images onto the screen.

"Why are we being called in? Is something connecting them?" Morgan asked, flipping though the pages. Hotch stood up and replaced Garcia.

He nodded. "Each was blonde with blue eyes. The letters SM were carved into their chests." I looked through the file, trying to find the first name of the police captain.

"So they're surrogates. Do they know who?"Garcia shook her head. "Ciceros claims to have an idea. He said an old friend matches the description but she's been missing for over 10 years."

The team nodded as Hotch told them when they left. I sat back at my desk and put my head my her hands. I know where they were going, I know the police captain, I know the surrogate.

"Jen?" I jumped and turned towards the brunette that was smiling at me. "You okay?" Emily asked. I nodded, my phone ringing on her desk. "Sorry." I smiled, picking it up.

"This is Agent Jareau with the BAU." The caller on the other side hesitated. "Hello?" I repeated. "I'm sorry. You're voice reminded me of someone. My name is Sophie Becker. I'm the assistant director of Mt. Horizon High School. I'm calling for an agent Hotchner?"

I swallowed hard and played with my hand, I hadn't heard Sophie's voice in 12 years. "Can I take a message?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady. "I was just calling to confirm that he needed 7 beds for his team during their stay."

Shit. We're staying at the high school. The place I spent the worst/best years of my life. "Agent Jareau?" She asked. "Sorry yes. That is correct. I will have him call when we are close to Mt Horizon."

We said goodbye and hung up, Emily no longer over my shoulder. The team all left for the plane and I took a window seat. Emily sat next to me and put her hand on my thigh.

"You know you never answered my question. Are you okay?" She stared at me and I smiled. "Yeah, I'm fine. Why?" Her smile faded and I felt sick. "You can tell me if something is going on."

I nodded. "I just got in a fight with my mom." I know she wouldn't push, mom's was always a touchy subject. "Got it." She smiled and went back to her book.

I stared out the window and thought back to what I had left behind. When I was 18 I ran from Mt Horizon, Scott was gone and Daisy was making plans to leave too. I wasn't going to be there without them.

The day I turned 18 I stole a kayak and went down the river, just like I had told Scott how to do. No one knew I left and no one ever came looking. With no money and no food I went back to what I knew.

I had met a girl named Jennifer. She looked just like me, it was weird. One day I found her dead, just like Patty, and I did the same thing I did for her.

But this time I did something different. This time I became her. I became Jennifer Marie Jareau. The girl from East Allegheny, Pennsylvania. I went back to her life and lived as her.

I haven't been Shelby Merrick in years.
