Sophie's pov
I knew it. I saw her face when she saw Scott. That girl is Shelby. He went inside and I went to join the Cliffhangers. "There's no way Jareau is Shelby. I was talking to agent Reid about her. They know her mother and her whole story. Shelby isn't that good of a liar." Daisy said when I sat down.

"Yeah. I looked her up. She was a soccer player in a Pennsylvania high school. That isn't her." Ezra added. They all talked about how it couldn't be her. I just nodded along, something in my gut says they're wrong. I know it.

When Scott came to join us he just shook his head. "It's not her. That girl isn't a bitch." I cut him off before he could say anything else. "Cut it out. She's still a human being so speak about her like one." He apologized and Reid came out. He told us they were calling it a night and thanked us for our time.

JJ's pov
I led the team back to the cabin, everyone else was getting lost. When we got back, we all just changed and fell asleep. The next morning, I got up early, I needed to go for a run. The thing I learned about Jennifer Jareau was she loved running, so I had to love running. Eventually I started needing it like I needed smoking.

I changed and slipped out the door quietly, no one was awake yet, it was still dark. I don't know where I was going, I had never been allowed to go out by myself. Last time I was here I was Shelby, not a runner, not JJ, Shelby. I ran past the lake we played in, the mountain I saved that girl, I just ran.

"Shelby?" I heard from behind me. I jumped to see who was in the middle of the woods with me. "Sophie, you scared me." I said, stopping. "Sorry. I just didn't know you ran." I smiled at her and we kept running together. "I have since high school. Varsity soccer captain." I laughed. We ran for a bit more before deciding to go back.

We came to a fork in the road when she tried to go right. "Wait Horizon is this way." Sophie smiled and nodded. "Whoops. It must've missed my brain." We got back and I joined her for breakfast. "Sorry, no coffee." I laughed and thought about what Emily was going to do. "Not a problem, I never really drink coffee."

"Same." She smiled as we got our food. "So how long have you been working at Horizon?" I asked, trying to get the conversation off of me. "Um, I think 15 years. I joined when Shelby was about 15 or 16." I nodded. "That's a while. You must love it here." She laughed. "I love the people. Peter and the kids. My cliffhangers are like my kids."

"So you and Peter?" I asked. I know they used to be a thing but maybe something happened. "Yeah, we're married. Met here, took a little break and got back together when I came to work here." My phone buzzed with a text from Penelope. "I have to go to the police station, thank you for the running partner and breakfast."

The team rode to the station with Auggie, they were talking about something but I zoned out. Emily just held my hand. We arrived and Hotch separated us, I was with Emily to talk with a victim's family. "Hotch says we have another dead prostitute. He sent us to check out the scene. I saw you zoning out so I asked to put us together."

I nodded and sat quietly. We got to the city and was shown to an alley. "Her name is Sharon Marks. A shop owner found her when throwing out the trash. SM was carved in her stomach, just like the others." I walked around the scene, listening to the things the cop was saying.

"This is where she was killed. Look at the blood and the splatter. Emily come here." I said, positioning her against the wall of the building. "He stabbed her here and that caused this splatter." I said, demonstrating the image that was playing in my mind. "And the carving was after she died." Emily added, it was like she saw what I was imagining.

"I'm gonna call Reid. And see if the ME has anything." I nodded and called Hotch to catch him up on what we found. When Emily hung up she looked at me. "Reid says she may have been picked up before she died."
