It seemed as if all my dreams had come true. James was going to Dumbledore's office (that couldn't be good,) Peeves was holding onto a guide to girls book which was apparently Potter's and Lily was absolutely furious at James.
"Ugh, I hate, hate, HATE JAMES POTTER!" Lily screeched as we walked over to Charms class.
"I always told you he was a bit of a git," I told her as I jumped over the disappearing step on the stairs.
"A bit of a git? A BIT OF A GIT! HE'S FOUL!" Lily said furiously as she too jumped up the false step.
We finally made our way to Professor Flitwick's office but James wasn't back from the headmaster's office. Professor Flitwick marked the role as usual and gave us an activity sheet to fill out.
Although she didn't talk, Lily's quill was scratching louder than anyone else's. Her face was red with anger and her handwriting which was usually neat was rushed and pointy.
I finally finished the sheet and gave it to the teacher and as always, Lily handed her's in a few seconds after mine. Her cheeks seemed to have returned to their rosy selves but Lily's eyes were still full of hatred.
"Erm Lily, your ink went through the piece of parchment," I said and I pointed at her table where streaks of scarlet ink were seeping into the wood.
Lily grunted and looked outside the window.
"You don't need to be snobbish you know," I murmured without thinking.
Lily banged her fist so hard onto her table a bit of her ink spilled onto the table.
"Honestly Sev, I'd have thought you'd be a bit more supportive to your best friend!" Lily snapped and she stormed out of the room.
