I Care About You

Sunday night, 07:26 pm - Danielle's dorm.

Haerin put the last load of dishes into the dryer, she then wiped her hands. Danielle was watching TV in the living room, she was playing with her hair, her cell phone was lying next to her, vibrating incessantly, it had been almost 10 minutes like that.

Haerin glanced at Danielle, the girl's face was flat but looked a little upset. Haerin stands awkwardly, all her assignments have been completed, and she doesn't really feel like studying anymore. Haerin wanted to join in watching TV, but the look on Danielle's face made her hesitate, Haerin decided she would just go to her room, maybe exercise or sleep.

"Haerin." the girl turned around, Danielle got up from the sofa and approached her, she then leaned on the kitchen table, Haerin looked at her, waiting for her to speak.

Danielle knitted her brows in frustration, where should she start? Why did she kiss Haerin? Why?

Clara had been calling her a lot since she found out Danielle had a roommate. Danielle was tired of telling her that there was nothing to worry about, Haerin was just a student who had to be taken care of and monitored properly, and Danielle was the head of the disciplinary committee, their relationship based on responsibilities and dorm mates, nothing more.

Haerin is not Danielle's type, her exes are mostly tall girls, foreign students who are currently studying in Korea, love to hang out, model-like appearance with an athletic body. Haerin only had those two criteria, tall and athletic, but she was still relatively slim, and she loved to study and looked like a submissive, she couldn't possibly match Danielle's hard and impulsive nature.

Then why did she kiss her?

Danielle exhaled loudly, she looked back at Haerin, the girl was still staring at her, her face was curious, she looked like a kitten who saw a new toy. Danielle wondered how such a nerd and brawler like her could have such an expression, oh what a duality.

"That kiss...", "Are you going to tell me to pretend it didn't happen?" Haerin asked, Danielle raised her eyebrows,
"Yes." she responded.
"Then why did you do it?"
"What?"
"You heard me." Haerin looked at Danielle.

"Is that your thing? Kissing other people and then considering it normal?", Danielle raised her eyebrows again, wow look at this nerd has the guts to say that to her, "For me kissing is not something that can be considered a joke." Haerin said again, Danielle snorted, "It's just a kiss, what are you, a virgin?"

Haerin approached Danielle, she was starting to lose patience, Danielle held her wand tightly, prepared if Haerin did something to her.

"Just a kiss? Not everyone is like you Danielle. You amaze me with how you are a person who is famous for her discipline but you look down on feelings."

"My love life has nothing to do with my role on campus." Danielle snapped angrily and pointed her wand at Haerin's face, the cat-eyed girl grabbed Danielle's wand and harshly lowered it, she didn't like people pointing fingers or anything at her, it was rude.

Danielle gasped at Haerin's actions, she then gritted her teeth, "You don't know anything about me Haerin, and you talk about feelings? Don't tell me you felt something after I kissed you?" Danielle sneered. Haerin's eyebrows furrowed angrily, she moved her body further so that Danielle had to look up at her.

"You may fantasize, hope or dream that I might grow fond of you, but I will never fall for someone like you Danielle, you are kind and beautiful, but that's all. The rest is just a rusty bunch of ego that can't be fixed." Haerin said with an impassive look, their faces very close.

Danielle felt her body and head filled with anger, no one had ever dared to speak to her like that, she felt humiliated, and this nerd was the reason why.
