Changing Mind

Monday afternoon, 2:15pm - Minji Dormitory.

"Why don't we eat at your place, I want your cooking." Minji stirred her ramen.
"You asked me for help with the essay, I won't have enough time to cook."
Haerin took out her notebook and laptop and opened them, "And what's wrong with you, you were silent in class and didn't take notes." she added.

Minji shrugged and slurped her ramen. Haerin picked up her phone from the sofa and checked it.

I just got to the dorm, what time do you get home? I bought you some ice cream.

Probably afternoon, I'll be back before dinner time. I'm helping Minji with her essay, it's due Wednesday morning.

I might not be able to focus if you're here 🙂. Where is Sofia?

She went to the office.
Hurry up and help that idiot and come back here.

Haerin chuckled.

She's not stupid, just lazy.
Have you eaten yet?

I ordered pizza and salad, I'll leave some for you. I'm going to change my clothes now.

Haerin smiled and put her phone back on the sofa, Minji looked at her with a flat face, "You look like an idiot." she said.

"You look more like an idiot when you're with Hanni." Haerin replied.

The sound of the door opening made them both turn around, Hyein entered and closed the door, she took off her shoes and stepped into the living room.

She put down her bag and bowed her head to Haerin, she looked at Minji.
"Did you eat instant noodles again? You just ate it this morning before leaving, eat something healthier." she scolded.
Minji looked at her lazily, "Why did you come back here?"
"Dad wants me to keep an eye on you, he'll take care of the transfer papers so I can stay with you until you graduate."

Minji's brows furrowed, "Why do I have to be watched? Is it because he thinks I'm just messing around?"
"Dad wants you to study well Minji."
"What for?"
"You're going to take on his company right."
"That's not what he said yesterday when he was here. He said Kim Eun Choi would be the one to continue it, his dear niece, majoring in International Business with a Master's degree." Minji rolled her eyes.

Hyein smacked Minji's shoulder, "Dad deliberately said that so you'd feel challenged to prove yourself, are you stupid or what?" she snapped irritably.
"That's no way to encourage me." Minji replied.
"Dad always talks to you nicely, you're just being stubborn and doing whatever you want!"
Hyein wanted to dunk her sister's head in the ramen soup.

" Listen, Minji, you do have a purpose in life, don't you?" Haerin spoke up to intercede between the two of them.
These two sisters seemed to have equally short patience levels.
"Yeah."
"Does it involve Hanni in it?" asked Haerin trying to entice Minji with her favorite person.
"Yeah, of course." Minji gave a small smile.

"I know you want to make her happy with you. Being a successful person is one way, but besides that Hanni and your family, including me, will definitely be with you in your process, watching you try and work hard to achieve all that." Haerin said.

She looked at Minji's face, her friend's expression was one of deep thought.

"Your Dad wants you to succeed Minji, he loves you, and Hanni would be proud of you." she added.
