The Results Of Everything

In the morning, 06:45 pm.

Danielle buttoned Haerin's mandarin collar shirt, 2 more to go, "Stop being nervous Haerin." she kissed the cat-eyed girl's chin.
"It's the first day of my internship, of course I'm worried." Haerin hugged Danielle's waist.

"Your solution back then worked well 4 months after they were implemented, Dad was very satisfied with the results and revenue has been increasing rapidly for the past one and a half years. What are you worried about?"

"I'm a division head intern, there's never been anything like that in office history...well, at least that I know of."

Danielle finished buttoning Haerin's shirt, she stared at her, "You gave the idea, you monitored it, you played a role in every decision. You did everything well and consistently until we graduated. With all that busywork you even graduated in first rank."

She cupped both of Haerin's cheeks, looking at her affectionately, "You worked really hard, that's why Dad gave you that position. I'm proud of you Bobcat."
Danielle kissed Haerin gently, "I couldn't ask for more, you're perfect."

Haerin's face flushed with joy and embarrassment, "Come on, we can't be late on your first day." Danielle pulled Haerin's hand, they walked out of the bedroom.

Haerin suddenly pulled Danielle's waist and hugged her tightly, "I couldn't have done all this without you and your family's help." she said.

Danielle let go of the girl's hug, she caressed Haerin's cheek, "No, you got this far because of yourself, not me or my family."

Haerin hugged Danielle again, "I love you." she lowered her head and kissed the girl's lips.

She then put her hand into her pants pocket, taking out a round ring box made of wood.
Haerin released her lips and looked into Danielle's eyes lovingly.

Her eyes glanced at Danielle's right ring finger, the marker from her had always been there, Danielle only took it off when she wanted to wash it then asked Haerin to tie it back on. The color had faded, and there were a few strands of thin fabric fibers hanging down.

Haerin placed the ring box in Danielle's palm, the girl's eyes widened, *Why..."

"Your father paid me every month, and I saved it, to buy you this. I promised, remember?" Haerin untied the knot of cloth on Danielle's finger and put it into her pants pocket.

She took the box back, "Do you want me to kneel down and put this ring on you just like in the movies?" Haerin grinned.
Danielle giggled, "If you don't mind." she replied with a cheeky smile.

Haerin put her left knee on the floor, she opened the ring box and showed it to Danielle, "I hope you like it." she smiled nervously.
"You can just give me a paper ring and I'll still like it, what matters is your intention in it." Danielle kissed Haerin's forehead.

The girl then looked at the ring, plain and made of white gold, all that decorated it was a thin line made of gold, following the circular shape.
Danielle gave a gentle smile and extended her finger, "Are you going to let a woman wait?" she chuckled.

"Ah..yes.." Haerin's face turned red, she then took the ring and reached for Danielle's hand.

"HOW DARE YOU!!!"

Haerin and Danielle turned around in shock, Minji approached them, she shook Haerin, "How dare you!" she said again.
Haerin immediately put the ring in her pocket so it wouldn't fall out.

Hanni ran over to Danielle, she jumped up to hug her, "OH MY GOD, CONGRATULATIONS DANI!!!" she kissed Danielle's cheek, her eyes teary.

Haerin stood up and pushed Minji, "Are you crazy?" she yelled, straightening her messy shirt, "Why did you come in? I told you to wait outside." Haerin glared at Minji.

Minji folded her arms in front of her chest, "You told me to wait so you could propose to her without us knowing? What kind of friend are you? Wait until my sister-in-law finds out about this." she snorted.

Haerin furrowed her brows, proposing?

"What are you talking about?" Danielle glared at her, Hanni looked at her confused, "Haerin proposed to you right?" she asked, "What? No! She just gave me a ring."

Minji snorted again, "She got down on one knee, there's no way she didn't propose to you."
Danielle narrowed her eyes, "Get out of our apartment. And why are you here? Your work place is different from us."
"I've told Haerin I'm gonna drop by to say hi before she leave, she's my friend anyway, what's wrong with that." Minji stuck out her tongue.

"Dani, why haven't you left yet?" Sofia appeared from the entrance and approached them with a confused face.

"Unnie, your sister is keeping something from us." Minji smirked, Danielle gave her an annoyed look, "Do you want me to hit you?"
"Tell her Haerin just proposed to you!"
Sofia's eyes widened, "What???", she then turned to Haerin, "Although I'm actually happy but aren't you guys still too young?"

"Unnie, what's all the fuss about?" Hyein appeared from behind Minji.

"Gosh, why is everyone here?" Danielle held her forehead.

"Why are you here? Shouldn't you be at college?" Minji squinted her eyes at her sister.
Hyein shrugged her shoulders, "I have a day off, anyway I wanted to see you before you go to work on your first day, after that I'll have breakfast with Sofia Unnie."

"Did you guys already have breakfast?" Sofia asked them.
Danielle walked towards the dining table and picked up a package containing 2 lunch boxes, "Haerin has prepared food for us, so I will go straight to the office." she put the packages on the sofa.
"Don't be late, it's your first day too." Sofia smiled at her, "Come on Hyein." she walked towards the door, Hyein followed her.

Minji hugged Haerin, "Congratulations buddy, you made it" she whispered, she then released her hug, "I'm gonna wait at the parking lot, hurry up okay."

Danielle hugged Hanni, "Good luck on your first day of internship. Keep an eye on that troublemaker." she said, Hanni chuckled, "Of course."
Minji grabbed Hanni's fingers and walked towards the door, "Don't do anything weird!" she shouted as she closed the door.

"She's so annoying." Danielle narrowed her eyes.
She then turned around and faced Haerin, the girl was already holding the ring, she grabbed Danielle's finger and put it on.

Danielle gasped, her heart racing at the unexpected action. It was just a casual ring, what if Haerin put a wedding ring on her?
She squealed, her face turning red.

Haerin looked at her in confusion, "What's wrong baby?" she asked.

Danielle buried her face in Haerin's chest, she shook her head slowly, "I'm so happy." she looked up at Haerin and kissed her.
Haerin returned the kiss and rubbed Danielle's back.

"We have to leave now, Dad's going to babble at me for a week if we're late." Danielle released her lips and smiled, Haerin nodded.

She then picked up her briefcase that was on the sofa as well as the packed meal, she then held out her hand to Danielle, "Are you ready?"

Danielle smiled and took Haerin's hand, "Yes, I am."
