Baby Shower
Kino and Tiff escorted Layla outside to the patio for her big entrance. When she walked through the back doorway to the outside she instantly teared up. It was a Hawaiian theme with Stitch and Angel. Tiff was extra and had all the pink replaced with purple because that's Layla's favorite color. It had cartoon characters but it was very elegant. It fits Layla's personality perfectly. There were balloon garlands that looked like different sizes of purple and teal pearls delicately placed in the backyard. The center pieces on the tables had beautiful purple and teal arrangements with hibiscus, peonies, lilies and palm leaves.
The food was laid out buffet style, just like at a luau. Some were traditional dishes and others were down south backyard barbecue. Tiffany made sure to represent both sides of the family. The smell from the smokers was enticing and Layla just wanted to eat at that point. There were different areas set up for gifts, photos, drinks, and of course her sweets bar.
Tiffany grabs the mic Aiden was passing to her.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome our mommy to be."
Of course everyone cheered even on Ken's side of the family. One thing they could not deny was that Layla was drop dead gorgeous. She was one of those women who got even more flawless while she was pregnant. Standing next to her dad, she looked even more stunning. Kino's genes were the dominant ones Layla inherited.
Her cousin Lela, came over to her and put a lei around her neck as well as a hibiscus flower in her hair. Layla was like Lela's baby sister. Layla didn't release any tears until she heard a very familiar voice that came up behind her.
"Princess, you look beautiful."
She turned around and it was like deja vu, she was looking at her Uncle Keli and she couldn't hold the tears any more. She knew she would always have her dad and her uncle no matter what. She hugs her uncle and says,
"I missed you, you promised not to stay away for so long. It's been two months. Did you bring me something back?"
"Don't I always. And besides I was gone for two months but didn't I see you last month?"
"I had to come visit you so it doesn't count. I'm just glad you are here. Now I have my two best men."
"I'm the cool one though, your dad is just along for the ride."
Kino pushes his brother over and brings his baby girl back to his side. The brothers loved teasing each other. They stop when they hear Tiffany speak again.
"Okay, everyone listen up. I hope you have enjoyed the cocktail hour. I wanted to give you guys a little treat before the pregnant lady showed up. She can't drink, so no one passes her a coconut or pineapple. They all have alcohol. I have a special virgin drink for her with her own fancy glass.
This is a co-ed shower and I expect everyone to participate. Ricky, Martell, and Chase that includes you three but you will not be getting wasted at this party. I passed your pictures to all of the waiters and they all know you guys will have a limit on alcohol. Meaning none. I don't want to hurt you today, okay? Okay.
Now, these games are going to be crazy y'all. Be prepared. We have excellent prizes. And I may or may not have slipped a little something extra in the apple juice for the drinking game. You same three will not be participating. So pick another game.
