I relished in the feeling of the leaves under my feet, the wind through my hair, the familiar sounds of the forest around me.

I ran as fast as I could, I would be damned if I let him catch me.

I was faster than him by a long shot. Somehow he always found ways to catch up to me.

I couldn't let him catch me, not after what I pulled.

"RI!"

I laughed as his voice shook the bugs in the plants causing them to fly away.

"Ouch!"

I heard him hiss and I immediately stopped running, turning around.

"Teyam are you okay?" I called

When I didn't hear a response that's when I started panicking, "Teyam?!"

I suddenly felt a force tackle me to the ground.

"Oof."

My back hit the floor, causing me to lose my breath.

His hand was under my head, making sure I didn't hit it.

"Cheater."

I immediately flipped him over and placed a knife to his neck.

"I feel like we've been in this situation before." He teased, his hands under my thighs

I hummed, tracing my lips over his, "a few times I think."

He blushed and flipped me over, knocking the knife out of my hand.

I rolled my eyes.

"You deserved it after what you did." Neteyam teased me, his face right above mine.

I couldn't help the laugh that sprouted out of me, "but you look so beautiful with green hair!"

He scowled playfully. He aggressively shook his head, hitting me with his braids.

I felt the green powder fall all over me, and spit it out of my mouth. I was no doubt now covered in the green substance.

"Now your green too."

"You're so glad I love you."

He cheekily smiled at me and I laughed.

"But serious maRi these pranks are getting out of hand. I'm ambushed around every corner! I have to be aware of every step I make."

He looked at me with his puppy eyes, they won be over but I still pretended to think about it.He rolled his eyes and tickled me, causing me to shriek in laughter.

"Stop! Stop! OKay, Okay I promise to tone it down!"

He immediately stopped.

"See, was that so hard?"

Yes. It physically pained me. I pushed him off of me and he groaned.

"No come backkkk."

I pulled his hand, "come on loser."

I lead us to our tree.

"Race you to the top!" I yelled over my shoulder and Neteyam ran behind me.

"Cheater!"

I climbed up the tree, waiting a little bit for him.

I flopped myself down on our tree resting my back against the branch.

"I demand a rematch."

"Nope."

He groaned, pulling himself up next to me.
