Momentary Paradise (Part Two)

Ellis watched quietly as Lapis approached the camp. There was this sense of uneasiness that radiated off of him. It was as if he was aware of something Ellis couldn't see, and it made him very uncomfortable. "Lapis what's going on...?" He whispered.
"Shh. Try and stay quiet for a minute." Lapis whispered back, setting him down and looking through a set of bushes. "Fuck." He hissed, backing out and grabbing Ellis's hand. "People must've come searching for you... We can't stay here tonight." Ellis nodded, and let Lapis lead him back into town.

They entered a fancy inn that seemed to be very busy at the moment. Lapis walked up to the innkeeper, a tall, pale, lean man with long white hair, and started chatting with him. "Wren! You're looking absolutely wonderful today, as always." He grinned, resting his arm on the bar counter.
"Ah... Thank you Lapis, glad to see you got out of prison. Again. What do you want?" The man said, sighing heavily.
"One room, two beds, please, and thank you."
"Coming right up." He yawned, tossing Lapis a key. Lapis thanked him and spun around, Grabbing Ellis's hand and pulling him upstairs without warning.

"This is our place for now! If you don't like it I'll go bother Wren for a new one, but yeah, home sweet home and all that garbage." Lapis yawned, flopping on one of the beds. Ellis scooted over, sitting down next to him.
"I wanna go somewhere..." He mumbled. Lapis looked up at him tiredly.
"Uh... I could take you to the Treya garden... I don't know any other places you'd find interesting that are still open this late."
"That sounds amazing!" He beamed. "I used to love gardens when I was little." "Alrighty, garden it is." He smiled, getting up and glancing at the velvet curtains. He opened the window and motioned for Ellis to go through it.
"Huh... can't we just use the door..." Ellis asked, tilting his head.
"You'd think so, but Wren has this stupid curfew thing. We aren't allowed to leave the inn until morning."
"That makes sense I guess..." Ellis mumbled, climbing out the window with Lapis following behind him.
