The garden was beautiful as always. Moss dotted the cobblestone pathways, weeping willows swayed in the wind. The Treya garden was beyond perfect, and it knew it. Lapis sighed, watching as Ellis looked at the garden in awe. It was very obvious that Ellis loved it, and for some reason the knowledge that something he showed him made him this happy made Lapis feel all warm inside.
"Lapis, look! A bird!" Ellis gasped, pointing at a squirrel.
"Yep, that's a really pretty bird, Ell." Lapis laughed, enjoying watching Ellis explore. The Moon was high in the sky now, and the only thing lighting up the garden were dim lamps and fireflies. The moment Ellis saw the fireflies he went into some sort of trance. He'd been oohing and awing at the little bugs for about ten minutes now, and Lapis found it both hilarious and adorable at the same time.
"Ell! Come sit over here!" He hollered, sitting down comfortably on one of the famous Treya city benches. Ellis blinked, walking over and sitting next to him. "Soo, what's your Treya garden review?" He chuckled.
"It's really pretty." He said with a warm and genuine smile on his face. "Can we come here again?"
"Yeah! Of course, we can. Treya leaves their garden gates open all the time. Easy in, easy out." Lapis smiled, watching the stars. Ellis mumbled something that Lapis's ears didn't pick up on before leaning against his shoulder. "You tired Ell? It is super late so I definitely understand. We should probably get back, huh?" He smiled, not yet realizing Ellis was already asleep. He looked over, a wave of happiness hitting him as he saw how peaceful he looked. "You're too great for this world Ell." He whispered. "I'm gonna make sure the whole world knows that."

He lifted Ellis up, trying his best to make sure he didn't wake him up, and carried him back to the inn, climbing back in through the window, and setting him down on the bed. "Sleep well, Ell. I'll be back in a bit." He said, before heading off to the night market.
