600.The Body

Sehun staggered backwards. His adopted mother, Lee Lilan… was actually dead!

Jungkook’s expression turned heavy. He embraced Lisa tightly. He was thankful that he could be by her side at this moment.

He wanted to tell her not to be upset. However, her mother had passed away. How was she supposed to be happy?

He had a thousand words to say, but he could only murmur softly. “Lisa…”

Inside the break room, there were police officers accompanying them. After hearing the entire recording, several of the police officers who were involved in the case felt that Lee Liyin was completely inhumane!

That night, a female corpse was dug out from beneath the Lee family’s storeroom ground. It had rotted to a significant degree.

As the corpse was wrapped in plastic wrapping and the ground was sealed with a thick layer of cement, the horrid smell did not escape the ground.

Jungkook originally did not wish for his fiancée to witness this scene. However, she was insistent.

Lisa watched as her mother’s corpse was dug out from beneath the storeroom where she had lived for more than seven years!

Her tears fell endlessly.

It turns out her mother had always been accompanying her in this room. She had suffered all alone beneath the ground.

Yet she had always been unaware.

“Mom!” Lisa tried to rush towards the corpse. However, Jungkook embraced her tightly and prevented her from going near.

The corpse had rotted to a significant degree and it wasn’t suitable to approach it.

The dead had already left the world. It was better to ensure the wellbeing of the living.

Sehun approached his adopted mother’s corpse in misery. He was similarly stopped by a police officer. The officer warned. “Please do not touch the crime scene!”

“Lisa, you have to be strong!” Sehun turned to see that his sister was crying miserably. He also teared up silently.

He struggled to imagine the trauma she now had to live with after living with her mother’s corpse for seven years.

Jungkook thought the same. The heartache left him deeply in pain. However, there was nothing he could do besides loving Lisa more from now onwards.

As the Lee family’s villa was now a crime scene, it was temporarily sealed. They could only return to it after the case was closed.

Lisa’s saliva was retrieved for a DNA test with the corpse. She then returned to the Yu Ting Villa with Jungkook.

Although Sehun did not wish for her to leave, he understood that only Jungkook could give her the comfort she needed right now. Thus, he did not stop her.

He then returned to his own apartment in the Hong Sheng District.

Jungkook sealed off all news regarding the discovery of Lee Lilan’s corpse. Aside from several officers involved in the case, the public was completely unaware of this matter.

Yu Ting Villa.

Lisa stood in the main bedroom’s balcony. Her gaze was desolate as she stared at the Yu Ting Villa’s stunning and vast backyard garden. She was overwhelmed with heartbreak.

Jungkook embraced her from behind, holding her firmly in his arms. His heart was aching for her. “Lisa, don’t be too upset. Auntie is resting in heaven right now. She wouldn’t wish to see you like this.”

“That’s right. My mom has always doted on and loved me the most.” Lisa forced a smile despite her pale complexion. However, her smile was filled with sorrow. “When I was young, she once said that she hoped I would spend my whole life in happiness.”

“You have Auntie’s blood in your body. Right now, what you can do is to live well and spend each day happily. This way, she will be able to leave this world without any regrets.”

“En.” She nodded heavily and turned around to press her face against his chest. Her tears soaked his expensive, white dress shirt.

However, he paid no heed to it. He only wished that she never had to suffer something like this again.

“I’m slightly thankful that my father is in a coma.” Her voice was gloomy., “This way, he will not know that my mom is no longer around.”
