Adrian Veidt's crazy dream of uniting all humanity as one against a common enemy did not work at all "in the end", and that the American dream has turned into the American nightmare. Dr. Manhattan's disappearance has left the world in chaos, and international nuclear conflicts are more likely than ever.

Five years ago, the world's smartest man, Adrian Veidt, also called. . . Ozymandias brought the world to a grinding halt. In his insane plan to stop World War III, he destroyed New York City and killed it's entire population.
Rorschach died. And Dr. Manhattan left this galaxy for one -- 'less complicated'.
But Adrian's scheme failed, just as Dr. Manhattan predicted. The truth came out when Rorschach's journal was released to the world media. Now, Adrian Veidt is the most wanted man on Earth, the world's countries are falling into chaos, and World War III has started with Russia fighting the European Union.
Now, as the world falls into anarchy, it's up to a new breed of Watchmen to keep humanity from destroying itself.
