I gotta say, Dimitri's band of weirdos, soaking wet and shivering, look nonetheless ready for anything.

"How much have you heard?" I ask. I'm at least grateful this country isn't being ignored right now. I expect if this gang has come all the way here, they are at least a little educated on all of this, and my friends around here could use the assistance of a put-together underworld group.

"A teensy bit," says Dimitri. "Rogue officers terrorizing around?"

"The last few days, a bunch of well-armed men in suits and badges seemed to arrive out of nowhere, and no one, not even the President, has been able to do anything to curb their violence. People have turned really afraid to walk around."

"Maybe Penelope has something to do with it," brings up the turtle.

"Who's Penelope?" Hearing that name makes me flinch. I've never met this Penelope, but now I have a tiny lead! If I could just find an answer, I could maybe swoop in, capture this Penelope, and really take back my home.

"Well, I'm Bentley, Mr. Thornel. And Penelope with another guy, a frog, recently flew in here on a blimp. We saw it on camera. Both of them we have big history with. And they're up to something nefarious. We just have no idea what."

"And don't forget about Roger Silvio," brings up the little dog. "He and Mz Ruby were in cahoots, and she definitely has something to do with this also."

"I think once again we have some introductions to do," says Bentley.

"We've got time." I walk over to my trapdoor. "It's probably best we stay down here for the night. I've got some sleeping bags and towels. I also fortunately have running water and a bathroom. It's not the most luxurious, though."

Last night, the Cooper gang and I came to an agreement that in exchange for my hospitality, they'd help me get to the bottom of this corrupt force, who I'm certain is not from around here. The cops around here were tough crocodiles, but they never just threw people in jail without any provocation.

Bentley's wheelchair was quite well-equipped. He had a GPS map of where we were and where Maritza Ruby's old hideout is. I remember when that alligator used to be a threat around these parts. Quite fierce and loud-mouthed in the few times I saw her around. There's been a lot of logging done around the country, but no one has dared touch her old territory. So many people fell under her voodoo and became her slaves during her time. Bentley asked Sly how much he remembers of the place, making me ask what they were here in the past for. They explained Maritza's involvement in a prior gang and how Sly beat her years ago in a "Voodoo Simon Says". I asked them about the date they remember doing so, and it matches up with our memory. Some of this gang is actually really famous around these parts. Infamous in others. Not all of the alligator's friends were solely her puppets. Some enjoyed doing services for her in exchange for immunity from law enforcement. Only when Sly apparently beat her did any proper humanitarian rights dare return.
