"You don't come across as the thieving mastermind type," Raleigh baits.

"That's the secret to my genius," I say with a smug grin that I hope displays confidence.

"Insignificant bug." He lashes out his big tongue at me, and I manage to hit it with my bat. I don't think Raleigh was expecting it to be that hard. He lunges at me with his inflated body this time, and I leap out of the way last second, pretending to be scared and frozen in place as he makes his aim so he'll focus on the wrong point of landing. It works and he hits the ground rather hard. Wow. He's actually incredibly heavy. It's like there's a bowling ball under his chin. The ground rumbles a bit from the impact. This gives me a sudden idea.

"G-get back!" I stammer.

Raleigh grins. I slowly walk backward and kind of accidentally stumble into one of the temple's teeth. I raise my bat in front of me with a slight shake. He begins walking to me and I swing it. I think I manage to swing hard enough to intimidate him from using his tongue. He must realize I'm backing myself into a corner by walking backwards towards a dead end.

"P-please, Mr. Raleigh," I murmur as I get quite close to the blocked exit. "Prison was horrible. I was in Heathrow too. Maybe we can work something out."

"Whatever happened to all your confidence?" Raleigh ingests a fly, grows, and he focuses more on his target this time

"Whatever happened to all your confidence?" Raleigh ingests a fly, grows, and he focuses more on his target this time. Still, I manage to act enough for him to underestimate me.

"It's still here," I say, as I manage to make a quick leap away. This belly flop on the ground is so powerful the floor can't take it and it gives way. The mouth of the temple opens up.

We both fall down with it, but the only difference is I'm happy for the cuts and bruises. The next view I get is of the rest of the team, and Raleigh running off, realizing he's been had, my newfound friends coming right this way.
