Driving down to Egypt, we all can barely sit still in the van.
There was no time for legitimate sleep after we found the clue. Thankfully, The Murray is not the only one who can drive this van. Carmelita and McSweeney have each taken an hour and a half to let drivers have turns resting. I especially needed it cause I was feeling kind of queasy from a combination of my butterflies and all the hot dogs.
The only one who hasn't been able to rest is Bentley. He's been in the back trying to make sure our time machine has not been tampered with and will work exactly the same as before. After the break-in, even though the burglar supposedly didn't touch this, Penelope's cards have definitely given him a sense something must be planted. So far he doesn't seem to have found anything but he's not taking it easy.
Dimitri's spent most of his time flipping through Sly's book, still on the lookout for inconsistencies. It may have been a mistake, giving the job to him. But Bentley insisted he keep his attention on the time machine, and when Dimitri volunteered, we guessed he'd be as good as anyone else at finding something off. McSweeney's been doing some online searches trying to learn the pyramid's history, but it seems to be not really public knowledge when and how the pyramid collapsed. And now the two of them are resting.
The main reason we're driving out in the first place is because Bentley's time machine can only operate if we have something from the time period and representing of the place. And this whole time, it feels like we're racing against someone else, invisible. We can't see them, and we don't know where they could possibly be. No doubt they're out to get us, though.
