I come back to my apartment in the evening after the crazy day.
I sit in the balcony and think about my phone. Where it must have gone?
I hear a knock on the door. I get up and walk up to the door. I open the door to a courier boy.
A guy in red T-shirt and grey trousers stands in front of me. He holds a small parcel in his brown hands.

"Miss. Candace? ", He asks.

"Yes"

"Your parcel"

"I don't remember ordering anything. Are you sure you are on the right address? "

"Street no.  071, Crystal apartments, 501?"

"Yeah that's right"

"Sign here",  he hands over me a sheet of paper with customers' name and addresses.

I sign beside my name and take the parcel. It's a brown cardboard box. I shake it to guess what it might be. Whatever is in the box doesn't move. So I hear nothing.
I sit on my bed, open the box and the cellphone inside surprises me. I don't remember ordering a cellphone. I recently  lost it and I was only thinking of searching for it and repair it if found.
I take the phone in my hand. It's deep blue smart phone. I have seen a phone like this one. But where? after putting my brain cells on work, I recall, I saw Mr. Carter using this kind of phone.
Suddenly the phone rings and it startles me.
Who's this?

I tap on the green icon.

"Hello", I say holding my breath.

"Hello Miss Candace. I am Robin Black, Mr. Carter's P. A", an energetic voice answers from the other end.

"Hello,  Mr. Black", I fumble.

"I hope you love your new phone "

"Of course I did but Mr. Black there was no need. I can't take this", I say with all the guilt gathered in my throat.

"No, Miss Candace there was a need. As this is the only way we could contact you after not being able to connect with you. Your phone doesn't connect"

"My phone doesn't connect because probably it's broken and I can't find it to fix it"

"Oh in that case we have fulfilled two needs"

"No, Mr. Black. I can't take this. it's very kind of you but... "

"I think you misunderstood. I didn't send the phone. I mean I did but after getting an order from Mr. Carter"

"Mr. Carter sent the phone? but why? "

"To enquire about your health. And that's why I had called."

"Oh wha.... "

"So How are you feeling now miss Candace? "

"I am... I am good", I push the words out of my mouth.

"Are you sure? "

"Yeah I am perfectly fine. Thank you so much "

"Okay Miss.  We'll meet tomorrow then. Will it be alright?"

"Ya... yeah"

The phone disconnects. I keep the phone on my bed and stare at it trying to figure out what just happened. Mr. Carter sent me this phone just because he couldn't contact me?
I shouldn't accept this. I should return this.

Next morning, we three reach the project site at 10 o'clock.
Mr.  Carter  already waits for us.
For the first I see his face clearly. He has got sharp facial features. Long pointed nose, Ears like Buddha, small light blue eyes, bow shaped light brown lips, Caramel skin tone mixed well with some witch spell only to mesmerize everyone who sees him or everyone whom he sees.
He rises up from his seat to stand around six feet tall. His black suit tightly hugs his well built body. His well gelled hair slicked back as if calling out to the angels of heaven.... Okay I went a little too far.
But if I were an angel I would have fallen down upon seeing him from the heaven.

"Hello Miss. Candace", Mr. Black shifts my attention.

"Hello Mr. Black", I reply.

"Mr. Carter would like to speak with you before you start the work"

Yeah of course, to paint these endless white walls, white ceiling and white floor, I need an explanation, I say in my heart.

"Mr. Black I think we should quickly begin. We have got a lot of work to do"
