I woke up with the sun in my eyes. I never closed my curtains last night which allowed the sun to leak through the windows this morning. I was so distracted by what had happened yesterday I forgot to do a lot of things. I checked the time on my phone and was pleasantly surprised that it was 8am and I wasn't tired at all. I swung my legs off the side of my bed and rubbed my eyes. I stood up and opened my door to see that Jj was already awake and out of his room.

I went down the stairs to see Jj helping my mom make breakfast. "Jayj? What are you doing?" I said through a yawn. I sat down at the kitchen bar stool and watched Jj as he was extremely focused on what he was making.

"Your mom is teaching me how to make some food since I really don't know how to make someone other than a sandwich and microwaveable food." He took whatever was on his pan off the stove and onto a cold place on the cooktop. "You're going to eat my masterpiece."

"I'll look at what quality of it first then maybe I will." I laughed and my mom shot me a glare from a cross the room. My mom has always preached to treat others the way you wanted to be treated but I thinks she forgets sometimes I'm not a 6 year old anymore.

"Don't be rude to him Kiara! He was nice enough to want to try to make something for you and you're putting him down." My mom stated loudly before walking out of the kitchen. Jj turned to look at me as I furrowed my brows and mocked my mom. Jj choked when he saw my face but quickly cleared his throat when my father entered the room.

"Good morning Mr. Carrera." Jj straightened his back and nodded to my dad who glared at him as he took the coffee out my mom prepared earlier in the morning.

"Hello Jj." He poured the black coffee into a mug and began adding sugar and half and half into it. "Jj. When will you be getting out of my damn house?"

"Soon sir. I think?" My dad grumbled and left the kitchen with his coffee in his hand. My father was never fond of Jj but it was a huge step for him when he allowed him in his house. Although my dad hates him I think he still feels sympathy for his situation. "I don't think he likes me very much kie."

"He's warming up to you Jj. It just takes some time. You wouldn't be able to see that with your tiny brain." I giggled as Jj took visible offense to my joke.

"Was that supposed to be a insult because a lot of animals have small brains and they are super smart." He dramatically tossed me the plate of pancakes he was making. They were slightly burnt on the bottom but I wasn't going to complain.

"Oh yeah? Like what animal." I bit my bottom lip slightly and watched as Jj had a hard time trying to think of a small brained animal.

"Oh I know. Ladybugs!" He said with much confidence.

"Don't lady bugs die windowsills? Don't they die because they live in windowsills and then get crushed by peoples windows..." Seeing Jj look flustered was so cute. Jj always tries to prove people wrong but when he couldn't he'd always get mad.

"Well...... how about praying mantis? Those guys look pretty smart. They were in kung fu panda so that means they have to be super smart." He moved over to my plate and took a piece of one of the pancakes and popped it in his mouth.

"Don't praying mantis breed with females knowing they are going to get killed by the female after? The female literally rips their heads off" I researched about animals a lot when I was younger so it was going to be impossible for Jj to find a small brained animal without any flaws.

"That's a good way to die! Bang a hot chick and then rips your head off. Pretty kinky." I gave Jj a disgusted look as he told me about how'd he want someone to rip his head off. "Okok... maybe not I don't want someone to rip my head off." I gave him a pleased nod and he began cleaning the pan he had used.
