Chapter 14: Dare

We arrived at the construction on the house and saw the whole group was sitting on the ground by the tree. Sarah was grabbing old chopped up pieces of food and putting them by the fire pit for later. We approached the group who were oddly very excited to see both of us.

"Wow I thought you forgot about us." John B got up from the ground and dapped Jj up while pope was behind him waiting to do the same. Once Sarah noticed I had arrived she came running up to me.

"KIEEE!" She hugged me. She smelled like a sweet vanilla perfume and a mixture of the ocean. She must've been out last night in the water. She let go of me and Cleo stood behind Sarah. Cleo wasn't as close with the rest of the group like everyone else. She was always around Pope and never shared the physical aspect of all of our friendships. I always hoes that she would once share that part.

"What up Kiara?" She nudged my shoulder and I smiled. I didn't quite know how to respond to Cleo's greetings. She never hugged me like Sarah did so it was always something knew when greeting her. She pointed her finger to my neck and snickered. "Your Romeo do that?"

Confused Sarah turned to me and as soon as she realized her eyes widened. "KIE!" She came to my side and pushed aside the shirt that was partly covering my neck. "Did this happen last night!?"

I pushed her hand away and looked over my shoulder to see where all the guys were. The three were walking over the the front of the house allowing me to talk without them hearing. I lowered my voice to ensure no one else could hear. "Yes but that's not even the insane part. I fell asleep last night on his chest in my bed and my dad came in and saw. Jj said they just had a normal conversation and then when I got up in the morning I learned that they talked again and my dad just handed him condoms out of nowhere." Sarah and Cleo's jaws dropped and they both bursted out laughing.

"YOU'RE KIDDING RIGHT!?" Sarah said in between her laughter. Cleo and Sarah were practically falling over on top of each other and loosing breath.

"I think the worst part of all of it is me seeing my da din the morning and him asking me if I wanted condoms and then pointed out my neck." I groaned and Sarah and Cleo fell to the ground still laughing. The two of them kept hitting the ground in between each attempt of breathing. "It's not that funny. More embarrassing than funny."

"No that's funny." Cleo collected herself and stopped laughing. "I just find it a bit odd that your father would let Jj stay in the house after find all of that out."

"That's what I though! He is a completely different person now that Jj is living here. I don't know what is it but something about Jj staying in my home after everything that has happened seems so... odd." The guys came over and I stopped talking and out my hand on my neck once again. I know the guys probably wouldn't care but I didn't need another person talking about it and me having to explain everything that's happened with my parents.

"What's up kie?" John B wrapped his arms around my tightly and hugged me until I could barely breathe. I saw from the corner of my eye Jj intensely staring at John B which everyone else in the group picked up on but John B. He let go of me and a awkwardly laughed it off. It was just a friendly thing and there was nothing weird about it. Jj made it weird.

"Hey kie." Pope said from a distance after seeing JJ's reaction to John B. I waved to him and was hoping someone would say something to change the awkward situation Jj created. Sarah bent down over a the fire pit that had a bunch of pieces of wood pilled up in it.

"We should make food. It's around lunch time and I haven't eaten anything all day." Sarah took the lighter that was on the ground and lit the newspaper that was in the pit on fire. The fire burned the paper which led to the fire carrying over to the large logs.
