Just some facts about Lan WangJi in the context of this book.

1. The reason he pushed Wei WuXian away even while he was in love was because of his desires. He thought he was becoming like his rapists and he ABSOLUTELY didn't want to become like that.

9. Lan WangJi never liked his appearance. He never thought himself to be beautiful and never thought he was likeable, reason of why he was surprised when Wei WuXian confessed to him in the GuanYin temple.

10. Lan WangJi was not as prim and proper as people thought, because often he broke a very important rule of Cloud Recesses. He lied.

All in all, that time in the dungeons really affected his overall mindset.
