Catherine's POV

When the left door opened, I was seated on the right side of the passenger seat, listening to music with my earpods.

He paused for a moment after seeing me before sliding into the car.

"What are you doing here?"

I scoff. "I gave you a contract Mr. D'Montez; you should have read it."

"Your contract doesn't matter to me."

"Well, it matters to me and FYI we will be working together. I will be associated and informed in details about anything relating to the company." I stated.

"That wasn't the initial agreement made." His voice was raised.

"If you have read my own contract." I emphasized each word, "I am sure it was written somewhere." My tune matched his.

"I didn't agree with this."

"And I didn't agree with your contract but unlike your selfish deal, my deal is benefiting both parties."

He clicked his tongue and whispered, "Trust me darling you don't want to go down this road with me" he smirked.

I felt cold, and my heart sank instantly. I quickly brushed off the weak feeling and stared out the window.

Immediately we got to the company. I stepped out of the car because seeing and inhaling him was driving me nuts. The new design with M at the top of the building caught my eye;
underneath it was "D'Montez" the wind hit my face hard, causing me to shiver in pain.

My family logo is gone, and that caused my heart to ache. I felt lost and confused, but I wasn't going to let him see me like this; I glanced at the new logo one more time before entering the building.

I was expecting to see familiar faces, but the new faces caught me by surprise.

"Who are you?" I asked the lady behind the receptionist's desk.

"I am Olivia, the new receptionist" She smiled.

"What happened to Sarah?" She kept quiet.

"Why the hell are these faces unfamiliar?" I yelled at her. Everyone present turned their attention to us.

"The boss fired the old employees." She panicked.

I rushed over to the elevator and pressed the 12th floor.

"We are definitely going to a funeral soon, because I am gonna kill Salvatore D'Montez." I said to myself.

"I am going to kill you." I screamed.

As soon as the elevator reached the office floor, I barged into my office.

"Who the hell are you?" I barked. "Who gave you the right to fire my employees without permission?"

He looked at me through his thick lashes with his head still down.

"I owe you no explanation."

"Yes you do Mr Salvatore because those people worked their butt off for this company. We all made this company together."

"Come to my office now." He called out to his intercom, ignoring my question.

"I am sure you ain't deaf, Mr.
Salvatore." His cold eyes stared at me intensively with his hand crossed. I knew I had stepped on his tail and smirked in victory with that look.

"Mr D' Montez ,you called for me." Olivia, my supposed secretary, walked into the office lightly.

"You are fired." I gasped. "Your services are no longer needed."
