Catherine's POV

I waited patiently for Mr. Jerkface to come down the stairs to the living room. I have decided to get on his good side. Since I can't beat him, I need him to like me. That way, it will be much easier to get information from him.

"Good morning." I grinned. He gave me a confused look.

"You shouldn't be here."

I rolled my eyes."Starting today, I will be your Personal Assistant."

"What!!" Anthonio responded from the threshold, "You don't mean that, do you?"

"I am definitely not leaving and since your boss is not giving me an explanation, I have to find one for myself." I said firmly.

"Catherine..." He gritted

"Before you start with your threat, just know I am not giving up." I added quickly

"You could use a PA." Anthonio said to him.

I smiled, "Thank you, Anthonio."  Salvatore glared at him. "Before you kill me, just listen." He said in defense. "We all know how stubborn and adamant Catherine can be."

"Hello, I am right beside you." I waved at him, but he ignored me and continued.

"So, letting her work with us is not a bad idea, she could be useful, and you definitely need a PA."

"Shocking!! I wonder why he doesn't have one." I said with a hint of sarcasm.

He narrowed his eyes at both of us. "Lascia andare," He said in Italian before leaving. I stared at Anthonio, confused.

"Let's go." He told me, and I followed suit.

I am going to learn Italian.

During the meetings, I could not understand a thing because they weren't speaking English, but I could tell they were still trying to track down who attacked their shipments and got the police involved.

After a while, I left the conference room and went to the office. I used this time to check through Salvatore's file cabinet, and I was shocked.

Valentine's Corps wasn't the only company they had infiltrated.

"This is insane." I muttered I clearly understood that you don't mess with D'Montez and walk freely.

I read through more files, leading me to the family names Salvatore has control over. The Russio, The Genovese, The Bonanno.

"Are they just three names?" I checked further but found nothing. "I thought Anthonio said they were seven." I searched thoroughly.

"This is not helping." I said in frustration.

I searched the other cabinet and I found a brown envelope and a Russian address were written at the top corner. I was just about to open it when I heard his voice.

"Don't touch that."

"Thank goodness you are back." I walked over to him  "Anthonio mentioned you rule over seven families but I found only three family names."

"You should ask Anthonio that."

"Rude!" I eyed him. "I only asked you a question; the proper thing to do is to answer." I clicked my tongue. "You have two choices Mr. D'Montez; it's either we work together in peace, or we will start a war."

"War, you say." He arches his left brow. "I love the sound of that." He moved closer. "Tell me Mrs. D' Montez, what do you plan on doing?"

My face was just an inch away from his, and I was so engrossed in his sexy cold green eyes. His manly cologne and those eyes trapped me in that spot, and I was speechless for the first time. I could feel the heat crawling up my face again.
