Patricia's POV

"Can we talk?" I whisper as I continue to look at my hands. "We are. What do you want to tell me?" Eddie looks at me with eyes full of concern. I know he said we should be trying, but does he really want it? "I-" I'm abruptly stopped by the loud ringtone of some random drum beat. I recognise it all too well. I give him a slight nod as if to say 'go ahead'. He answers the phone and begins pacing the floor. I only catch his end of the conversation. "Yes, I am"
"Oh, the results."
"Yes, I would still like to know"
"Are you sure?"
"Right, Ok, thank you"
"Ok, bye, thanks again."
He stands in front of me with a ghost of a smile on his lips. "What is it?"
"I'm so relieved" he lets out a breath of air as if he hasn't breathed in a while. "I had something to tell you too. As soon as I found out about Jenny, I was suspicious. Once Jenny arrived I sent our DNA to be tested." He looks happy, what were the results? "And?"
"Negative. I'm not related to Jenny. I'm not her father!" He seems so happy. "This is great! I know I said we should be trying but to be honest I'm not ready. I don't want kids yet. Not right now" He continues before ending up sat next to me again. I look at him with the best smile I could muster. "That's fantastic news, Eddie!" My voice betrays me. "Oh, what did you want to tell me?"
"I thought I was pregnant. I took a test. I'm not." I smile falsely to try and show him that I feel as he does. "We have plenty of time" he begins to walk out the room, for dinner I'm assuming. "Yeah" I murmur before following.

Once downstairs, I realise that everything appears to be back to normal; Amber showing everyone she knows how to plan a wedding, Joy and Jerome fussing aimlessly over Jaden and Brooke glaring at me as if I'm in the wrong. Although, the last one isn't really the 'usual', so to speak. Besides that, everything seems good, plain, normal. "It's 13 days until the wedding! I'm so excited, and It's not even my wedding day!" Amber shrieked too loudly for my liking. "Since we're officially back on track, you'll just have to be one bridesmaid down though, I'm sure it'll be fine" Amber continued. "Why am I one bridesmaid down? Brooke is still here, right?" I asked quickly. Everyone just looked at each other, "Yes, she is. But she just assumed you would make her leave considering everything." I looked up to see faces of indifference. "I don't hold grudges" I see Eddie looking confused "For too long" I add with a glimmer of a smirk. "Let's go out for dinner!" Joy says in her baby voice in the general direction of Jaden. I guess we're back to normal, well, as normal as can be.

3 hours later

"Goodnight Everyone. Yes Amber we will go dress shopping tomorrow" I say exasperated as Eddie and I ascend the stairs to our bedroom. As we enter the room a feeling of comfort washes over me. I've always felt comfortable around Eddie. It's habit, and habits are to break. He turns around abruptly and kisses me. Out of the blue, with no reason, randomly. I love it. I love him. I kiss him back wholeheartedly, I never want to let go. I put my arms around his neck pulling him closer. No distance between us. Not now and hopefully never again.

- Enjoy, tell me what you think. You can be honest. I really like the next few chapters that I'm working on now. They're going to be fun and just full of friendship/relationship moments! -Bunny4962 :) (Sibuna)
