My eyes drifted open as they took in enormous amounts of light. I squeezed them shut again and groaned as I heard Louis giggle.
"Really? Pictures in the morning?" I mumbled, pushing my face into Niall's shoulder that I had been using as a pillow.
"Good morning sweet heart. How are you feeling?" I head Niall's raspy morning voice ask.
I looked up him and even though my whole body ached, a smile spread all over my face.
"Much better."
“I asked Mr. Adams if I could go to Mabalacat today and he said that I could as long as I went with someone,” I said after I had walked into Liam and Niall’s hotel room once we had gotten to Quezon City in the Philippines.
“Why do you want to go there?” Liam asked, not looking up from his suitcase which he was rummaging through.
I paused for a moment, feeling Niall’s stare heavy on me, “There’s an orphanage there,” I began,”I went there about a year and a half ago and I just wanted to visit.”
“I didn't have you pinned as the volunteering type," Liam mumbled.
"Then you've got me pinned wrong," I said, defiantly.
“I’ll go,” Niall said suddenly.
“Cool. It takes an hour to get there.”
“I’ll ask the boys if they want to go too,” Liam said, sighing as he left me and Niall in the hotel room.
"What's with Liam?" I asked.
"He's just tired," Niall said slowly before he walked out, grabbing my hand as he passed.
After getting lost about five times and listening to Liam yell at Louis for taking the wrong street… five times, we finally got to the orphanage. It was exactly how I remembered it, big and yellow with red roofs. The building was cluttered with windows and the occasional balcony. It was only three years old. We all stared at it for a moment as we sat in the car.
“Here we are, Baby Anne’s Mansion,” I said as I opened the car door.
“Why is it called Baby Anne’s Mansion?” Zayn asked as he got out after me.
I turned to him for a moment, “One of the five girls that had this vision to build this orphanage about ten years ago was named Anne. She died here from a poisonous spider bite,” I said as I watched Louis gulp. “They named the building after her.”
“Catherin!” I almost screamed when a smiling Filipino woman answered the door.
“Summer!” she screamed back as she embraced me. “Who are these boys that you’ve brought?” she asked once she finished hugging me.
“This is Harry, Louis, Niall, Liam, and Zayn,” I said, pointing to each boy who offered her a smile. “I’m on tour with them right now and when we got here I couldn’t help but stop buy,” I said.
“Of course! You have to see the kids! They’ve grown so much!” Catherin said, leading us into the house.
“Maris!” I squealed as a little girl with her four front teeth missing came running into the lobby. I squatted down as the six year old girl buried her face in my shoulder and I wrapped my arms around her.
“Hey love,” Louis sweetly said as he bent down to get eye to eye with Maris. The boys all started laughing as she went to hide behind me.
“It’s okay, he scares everyone,” Harry said, trying to hide a laugh.
