It had been about a month since they escaped from the ship that Ward was moving the gold cross on, and after getting stranded on an island, the Pogues found their way back to the Bahamas. Their goal? Get the gold and the cross, and get the hell out of there. They broke into a decent looking house, that was clearly a vacation home for someone in the United States, to stay in while they made a plan of action.
It had two bedrooms and two bathrooms, with one being a master where the larger bath and bedroom were connected. Thankfully, the water hadn't been shut off, so they were able to use it like a hotel.
They decided to have the girls in one room, and the boys in another. If Kiara ignored the fact that they were literally stranded in the Bahamas, it was actually fun hanging out with everyone. When Sarah, Cleo, and Kiara went to bed she pretended it was just them having a fun sleepover, but then things got serious.
Sarah had gone out with JJ to get food, and JJ said one moment she was there and then the next she wasn't. She ended up coming back a day later in the arms of Rafe. He had practically collapsed through the door, and the only reason the boys didn't kill right then and there was because Sarah told them to stop, that he had saved her.
They had tried to get more out of Sarah, but Rafe told them she wasn't fully coherent because Ward had drugged her, and it would wear off in a couple of hours. Confused about what to do with him, the boys tied his hands together and dragged him to the master bedroom because it was closer, and locked him in there.
Rafe didn't make a single complaint the entire time, and he only watched as Kiara got Sarah to the couch as he was dragged away. Kiara quickly got a blanket over Sarah because she was shivering and set a glass of water nearby for when she woke back up. The somber look in Rafe's eyes had made Kiara nervous. He looked almost lifeless as he was thrown into the bedroom.
Kiara tried to ignore the fact that the man who was their enemy, but also someone she had unresolved feelings for, was in the same house as her. And he had chosen to be there out of his own free will. He had made the choice to come to them, to her, and it was all she could focus on, until Sarah woke up.
They all gathered around Sarah as she explained that she was grabbed from behind and didn't even have time to scream before the car was peeling away from the grocery store that her and JJ stopped at. Ward had drugged her so she couldn't get away this time and locked her away in a random room in the mansion he was camped out in.
As Sarah came in and out because of the drugs, she realized Rafe was in the room and he was telling her he would get her out of there. She didn't know how much time passed, but then he was picking her up, and they snuck out. As Rafe was getting to the car he was going to use as their escape, Ward must have noticed them because Sarah heard gunshots. She was then being thrown into a car and Rafe got them out of there.
"How could he have done that? We're his kids!" Sarah had said as she cried telling the story, and Kiara wrapped her arms around the blonde. Ward Cameron made no sense to Kiara, and she knew Sarah would soon come to the conclusion, too. He had already tried to kill Sarah, choking her on the boat, but the fact that he didn't care if he hit Rafe was surprising to Kiara. Rafe seemed like his right hand man, and Rafe would do anything to please his father. Luckily, they both got away from Ward unscathed.
More tears spilled down Sarah's face as the group of them went into the master bedroom to confront Rafe. He had been sitting on the floor, but stood as they all gathered around him. They confronted him as to why Ward kidnapped Sarah, and Rafe only shrugged.
"Ward was going to use her against you, and then kill her. And if using her as a lure didn't work, he would've killed her anyway."
"Okay, but then why help Sarah? Why now?" John B asked with venom in his voice. None of them could forget how Rafe had tried to kill Sarah.
