His feet scraped over the sea of gravel. The sky was just as grey and dreary as the ground under foot. Not a tree in sight. Just outside the city but too far away to call for help. One long mountain range hugging the horizon but too distant to run to. Herobrine panted in a fury as his eyes started this way and that. They caught sight of the dark figure again, high in the sky and circling like a vulture. Its unkept wings had to be flapped more regularly than normal. Like a raven, his wings were meant to soar. But look at what he had become.

Something dropped from the winged warrior. Something that flailed and screamed once it had been given to the welcoming arms of gravity. "Y/N!!!" Herobrine cried so loudly it scratched his throat. He knew catching you would be worthless, but it was the only thing he could think to do. Maybe he could make an exception here and use his powers to slow your fall-?! Of COURSE he would do that! Why was such a thing even something to be considered!?

Herobrine stretched out both of his hands and tightened his grip on nothing. You were still out of range. But soon you'd hopefully find yourself slowing down.

A whistling slit through the air. The dark shape of the Raven carelessly caught the woman before she could descend further. As angry as the king was that you were in the enemy's hold once again, he sweat bullets, huffing a sigh in knowing your death wouldn't be then.

You were dropped about ten feet in the air and left to roll over the sharp rocks. The Raven's boots crashed into the gravel just behind, standing over you with his wings stretching protectively.

Herobrine strode your way. His every limb was shaking, but with determination he summoned an old sword out of the air and approached with the intent to defend his queen no matter the cost.

"LET HER GO...NOW!" Herobrine demanded as he approached, but the warrior stood still, unfazed by the threat. You could tell this was some kind of trap, but what was going to be the trigger?? No matter. Either way, you'd have to do something different. Something that wouldn't align with the Falk's plans.

While the Falk was gazing ahead at your husband, you upoer-cut him in the jaw. It wasn't much, but it was enough to distract him so you could run. "Hero!!" You jumped into his arms and hugged the man excitedly. He rubbed your back.

"Get behind me, (Y/n)." Hero was not messing around. You did so immediately. It was a scary sight to see such a once beloved class of Falk appear to be so low on the pecking order, so unwell and desperate for revenge. What was once a rare, respected, high value warrior was now but the escapee of a prison that'd forgotten his name. Despite having a general idea of what this guy might be going through based on looks and history alone, at the same time, it was never good to get your revenge via killing.

You had learned yourself over these past months that that wasn't the way to go about solving a problem at all. It may be cheesy, but showing some love for once turned out to be the better option.

"Leave right now..and I might just CONSIDER sparing your life!!!" Hero pointed his sword at the man. Okay, maybe that was a little uncalled for..

The enemy said nothing. He only lowered his brows and prepared to strike.

The winged solder did just that. He struck your way, claws out and aimed for the body of your husband. What a sight. His black wings forming a terrifying silhouette as an animalistic snarl stretched from his throat. Hero was too startled to react. He was frozen with fear. What could you do?!?

Your tawny wings tore through the fabric of your shirt. Their broad feathers expanded by the subtle wing beat.

You dove between the two, back facing your husband, your shaking hands stuck out as if trying to stop the Raven all by yourself. Your breaths rasped, prepared if need be to take your final breath right here and now.
