There were her parents. There were her parents, waiting for her with their arms crossed and one foot out impatiently tapping the blood red patterned carpet. They had obviously been waiting for her ever since they saw her storm out of the buffet and slam the door shut after her. They looked angry but what she didn't know, was that it was for a whole different reason. 'Maria Anabelle Charmichael, did you or did you not listen to me about what I said about the water here?' demanded her mother angrily. Maria nodded her head slowly.

'Then why did you drink it?' Her mother looked at her with an icy glare.


'I....I didn't' what they didn't know never hurt them.


It was her fathers turn now. He was a bit more subtle then her feisty mother. 'Honey, we heard the tap running. We strictly told you not to go anywhere near the water, it's dangerous'


'Oh yeah, like it's going to kill me!' She retorted/retaliated. She quickly realised what she had said and flung her hand over her gaping mouth. 'I... I...' she began but her mother stopped her with a finger.


'I hope you've realised what you've done young lady. You could be in big trouble, both ways!' Her mother spun round and opened the door. With one final hopeful look at her mother, she was gone. Her father came over to her and placed a hand on Maria's shoulder. Maria shrugged it off. She felt so bad, she didn't need any sympathy, not even to make her feel better.


She lay on the bed linen and thought back to the argument. She should've never turned on the tap. Then none of this fickle stuff would've happened. There was afaint knock on the door. 'Come in' she replied wearily.


'I can't' replied the voice.' I have no keycard'


Maria sat bolt upright this wasn't her dad or her mum this was.......
